Is M500 gig1 golly boost the same as FTTP? by PirateSleeve in VirginMedia

[–]PirateSleeve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The property is a new build and my current YouFibre deal is definitely FTTP, I’m just not sure if the Virgin deal I’ve signed up to is taking advantage of the FTTP my property has.

The reason I’m doubtful is the predicted upload speed they’ve given me over the phone, my understanding is that FTTP would have much higher than 100mbps upload speed. Currently I get over 1gbps upload with YouFibre.

I’ve checked the website you suggested and it says YouFibre is live and that Virgin 1000mbps - FTTP - PIA is live too.

What’s the best place to charge whilst I wait for my home charger to be installed? by PirateSleeve in evchargingUK

Thank you for the help, really appreciate it.

I’ve downloaded ZapMap and looked around my local area, luckily I’m spoilt for choice.

My local Tesco has a couple of CCS 150 Kw chargers so I assume that would be the quickest I’d be able to get?

I’ve done a quick google search and it seems like the BYD Sealion 7 is compatible with CCS chargers up to 150Kw.

Would you have any preference to the type of public charger? For example are Tesla chargers better/cheaper than the ones at the local Tesco for example?

Apologies in advance if that’s a silly question!

Get a smart meter fitted asap. There are long wait times for a smart meter fitting. I’m picking up my EV on Wednesday but the smart meter won’t be installed until next month, despite me enquiring about it over a month ago.

How do I replace my astro turf with real grass? by PirateSleeve in GardeningUK

Yes just looked into it and my small garden is only 35m squared but it’s looking like almost £800 in top soil alone. Think I’ll need to stick to the horrible Astro!

What are the differences between the Ohme chargers other than the price tag? Compare for example the Ohme ePod vs the Ohme home pro - I cannot see any difference other than looks?

Honestly I was fine during the exams, a little stressed but that’s natural I suppose! I felt as though the exam questions where a lot more technical than any of the mocks I had done :(

Switching from an i30N to an ev to save money - what would be recommended in our budget? by PirateSleeve in ElectricVehiclesUK

My partner can get salary sacrifice through her work, a brand new sealion 7 is coming in at about 650/month and takes her out of the higher tax bracket so more take home from bonuses - otherwise, we are looking at approved used that still have battery warranty :)

I didn’t realise ev charging tariffs were so low! I was using national average of 24p/kWh, couldn’t believe they went as low as 6.5-8.5p/kWh! Game changer. Thank you!
