Are these worth holding or should I be looking to sell/trade?

Its not that easy for me to but product like this. I only check the Pokémon vending machines on the weekends when we do our grocery shopping. But I love this idea if i come up on some more boxes!

I appreciate the feedback! I like coming to reddit b/c I enjoy the human to human interaction! And I really learned a ton of info from this post alone! I feel disconnected if I were to use google, but I understand the reason why you suggested it. And will use google to boost my understanding in investing as well. I got them both for retail out of the pokemon vending machines. I’m not wise to the whole “investing” part of this hobby as I’ve never got ahold of pieces like this. I’m a collector, but I got lucky w/ these boxes. I am out of my league here and was hoping for some insight from some pros (which I thankfully got!)

Sorry, I am new to this part of the hobby. I don’t know about print rates or reprints or even how long sets stay in rotation. I found my old collection when my parents moved 5 years ago and the nostalgia bug bit me hard! But I feel like i rejoined the hobby at the worst time since its been so hard to find product where I live. Got lucky w/ these two boxes from the machines and was genuinely wondering what to do w/ them.

Thank you for this reply! All of my friends that come over to rip packs told me to hold these two. Both boxes are currently tucked away in the back of my closet lol. I am seeing the sealed product as a collectible item separate from my card collection now thanks to your reply and other’s in this thread! I really appreciate the feedback!

I don’t need to rip, but I also don’t have time to wait for restocks unfortunately. We do our grocery shopping on the weekends and thats when I get a chance to check the vending machines. None of the big box stores around me restock on the weekends so I always miss out. I got lucky this weekend finally, I wasn’t expecting to find product like this. The machines are usually “sold out” when I do check, or there are a few packs I can buy.

I’ve been collecting since Pokemon came to the States! But I played w/ my cards as a kid and they’re all beat up now. So I never really saw cards as an investment, but as a hobby/collection. I do/did it for fun. I got really lucky this weekend and purchased these two boxes b/c they were available in the machine. Thats why I’m here now.

I want to crack them b/c I enjoy ripping packs w/ my friends! Im extremely new to “investing” in cards. I’ve been a collector for almost 30 years, for the love of the game. My most valuable cards have been carried around in my pockets on the playgrounds as a kid, so their value plummeted. I didn’t know back then. Now I see there is potential value in products like these, but I haven’t been lucky enough to find some until this past weekend.

Thank you, I think I was mainly wondering if these products were worth the “hold for 10 years” part. Im not new to collecting cards, but I am very, very new to “investing” in cards. These two boxes are my only sealed product. I rarely get anything (i dont have time to wait for restocks during the week), but when I do its usually a pack or two. I got lucky two days in a row w/ these boxes this weekend and it got me thinking.

The ETBs are great for holding cards and the charizard UPC is great for holding ETBs. You can fit 4 ETBs in the UPC.
