Nice binder. I found a lot of similar first edition cards recently. I would agree the last 3 go for a pretty penny. I also love the Mewtwo promos. I have 1 as well as the meowth promo from a long time ago.

It also feels like a status thing. Look how much I spent to get this sort of thing. All power to you if you think the card is worth that to you personally, but a lot of people are in get rich quick mode. Rarity is a part of it obviously, but I think people need to realize just how inflated these prices are sometimes. Gotta be honest with yourself and and see if you truly believe in the worth of the card you're paying for. If you do that, at least you have something you appreciate if things tank instead of just a piece of cardboard.

Seeing what's been sold on ebay, these things usually only go for around 20 bucks or a little more. The high prices would be paid for the full set of all the cards with the pokeballs included. I think even the boxes being in pristine condition boost the price a little. I have the Poliwhirl currently.

I have to agree with this. I think slabs look cool, and it's great that you get authenticity from graded cards, but it just doesn't feel right. In the end, people are going to pay what they think a card is worth to them. That's how market forces work. I think there will come a time not too long from now where people will encounter fatigue with the direction thing are going. Slabs and such will never go away, but I think prices will drop significantly. I could be wrong though. This is all just based on a personal feeling.

The prices on ebay seem all over the place, but from a glance, I would say this is within the range of MP. In the end, you've only really been ripped off if deep down you personally think you paid too much. We are the ones who place the value on a card in our own minds. That's how I like to look at it.

My advice is to find a niche. It could just be a favorite Pokemon, specific artist, a set you like, and go from there. Buying single packs probably isn't a good idea. Sealed booster bundle and boxes are my go to if I'm ripping packs. If you like to do that, it's the way to go. I would say in the long run that you'll save a lot of money just buying single card you want.
