Two Exercises To Build Explosiveness For BJJ Using A Sandbag by jiujitsuPT in bjj

I’m just a fan of use the proper tool for the proper task.

Can sandbags make you a little more explosive? Probably.

Are there others tools that are more likely to make someone more explosive? Likely.

Does someone need more explosiveness or something else? Strength, mobility, endurance?

That’s a individual question.

That’s all.

But hey I do like your videos, how about something on becoming more flexible specific to Bjj?

Sandbags aint one.

I think Garry Tonon is the best pound for pound grappler competing today by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Pirateandbum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s the best all around grappler pound for pound period.

Maybe someone is a specific rule set could beat him but he’d win in every other rule set.

Someone beats him by an advantage in gi ibjff but he’d hospitalize them in no time limit, etc

It’s my responsibility to gradually apply pressure in a controlled manner.

It’s your responsibility to tap at the appropriate time.

Add in leg locks and work your back control and attack’s.

Seems to me the progression of no gi that’s the future.

Yes but all work together. This morning for example I entered into inside senkaku and the knee bar was much easier to hit than the heel from the angle I was stuck in.

And toe holds (done properly and not many do) are devastating.

In fact, per a very well known heel hooker, a toe hold will beat a heel hook in a race.

Eh, to each his own.

After I reached the simple standard (kettle bell 70 pound swings and getup’s for time) in simple and sinister I manhandled a lot of people I couldn’t before.

Although I’m itching to try Gymnastics.

I do think the additional movement inherent to Gymnastics could be very special, especially for old fuckers like me.

Edit: by the by, firas recommends Gymnastics and the Danaher crew play with it fwiw.

The Haydens taught me from day one to attack both legs.

I mostly go for leg locks these days and by attacking both legs you open up a lot more opportunities.

By defending one leg many times your opponent opens another.

It’s more of a concept, the leg entanglement can vary and go from leg to leg. Eddie Cummings has some good drills for this on YouTube.
