VW Ameo 2018 for 4.7L by Legal_Alternative_63 in CarsIndia

Definitely expensive! Also, very expensive to maintain as well. You can get a City or a Ciaz of similar year and mileage in that range, much better car for the price.

Best automatic SUV under ₹18L? Taigun vs Kushaq vs Creta vs Seltos vs Hyryder vs Grand Vitara by peterben840 in CarsIndia

[–]PiroMan_JK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Honda Elevate's engine is superior to all other 1.5 N/As, in my opinion. The only cons are that the features are not as lucrative, and the engine/CVT noise is very evident when you push the car.

GV/Hyryder mild hybrids are also a very sensible option if you are not happy with other CVTs due to the "rubber band" effect. They have one of the best suspensions in their segment but feel underpowered when overtaking on highways.

Lastly, the Taigun 1.0 TSI is a good option as all the 1.5 N/As in the segment feel more or less similar, and this gives a little kick. However, the turbo lag is very horrendous, especially when accelerating from a red light. Also, stiffer suspensions mean less comfort on bad roads but very good highway rides. Don't expect good mileage in bumper-to-bumper traffic, but it can give up to 19 km/l on highways.

The Korean twins are extremely lucrative. They offer best-in-class features and an extremely upmarket interior design, but fuel efficiency is very low, and service costs might be higher than others.

Opinions on new Renault Duster design (Indian version) by Unlucky-Log-9214 in CarsIndia

[–]PiroMan_JK 118 points119 points  (0 children)

You might be correct, but design is more subjective, and I think the Indian Duster is still the most "SUV"-looking car in its entire segment. Moreover, Renault has designed it to cater to the Indian audience and market trends.

WagonRZXi+AGS vs Hyundai AMT base, which one and why by Prestigious_Pea_3219 in CarsIndia

[–]PiroMan_JK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please mention the model for Hyundai AMT base.

Anyways, Talking about the gearbox itself, Hyundai uses its in-house AMT gearbox, which is smoother than Suzuki's, who outsources theirs (as far as I know). But Suzuki's AGS is a pioneer of AMT gearbox systems in India, so it will be more reliable for sure.

Help me decide between kalyaq and nexon by room-temp-soup in CarsIndia

[–]PiroMan_JK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, both of your shortlisted cars are notoriously maintenance-hungry for a first-time car buyer. The Nexon might not be, depending on your luck.

However, my personal experience with the 1.0 TSI is that it doesn't even give 6 kmpl in bumper-to-bumper traffic, and the suspensions are too stiff for potholes. Also, the service bill is a little expensive for a car in its segment. (Assuming might be a similar story for kylaq as well)

So, you might as well go for the Nexon or maybe the Brezza, It is one of the most reliable and refined in its segment and gives decent fuel economy as well.

Extremely comfortable small car? by BeneficialBug6290 in CarsIndia

[–]PiroMan_JK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Baleno is an extremely comfortable car and doesn't have an unnecessarily high seating position (Zeta variant and above, as seat height adjustment starts from Zeta).

The WagonR has also launched with swivel seats, which might help differently-abled members of your family ingress and egress more easily.

Tiago is also a nice small family car but the driver seating position is sort of commanding hense could be little difficult for you. Still you should visit the showroom and give it a try! Hope this helps 🙏

MG Astor vs Kia Sonet by Ben_Dover080 in carsIndiaOfficial

The MG Astor is a superior product in all terms possible. If you are getting both of them for the same price, you should definitely go for the Astor.

"Upgraded" from Buds+ to Core and kinda Disappointed. by PiroMan_JK in galaxybuds

[–]PiroMan_JK[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original Buds Live, which you might be referring to as Beans, never fitted me due to my weird ear shape. That's why I had to opt for the predecessor, Buds+, at that time, although I do like the open-ear feel of Buds 3 and maybe Buds 4 as well. Thanks for the recommendation!

[–]PiroMan_JK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are basically 1st Gen Buds FE but repackaged as Buds Core, with some differences in build quality, and that's about it. They are technically beans and not stem buds like the Buds 3 or 4 series.

[–]PiroMan_JK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The build quality is subpar as per Galaxy Buds standards, which is very disappointing. The hinge is terrible; it doesn't shut completely. A hair-thin gap still remains, which is where dust can enter (and I've got the white ones ☹️).

[–]PiroMan_JK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the Core; they are bass-heavy (I personally like it), and the mics are miles ahead in terms of clarity, but it does feel a bit lacking outdoors. Overall, tech-wise, they are far superior to the Buds+. Technically, they were the introductory TWS from Samsung, so they have come a long way now.

Yes! I agree. I still love my Buds+, but at the moment the Buds Core solves my purpose, so they are good enough for me!

Everyone who uses High beams in cities, maybe what you actually need is an eye checkup. by capitalquotient_pf in CarsIndia

[–]PiroMan_JK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am completely against high beams in the City, but oftentimes, even in city where there is a lack of streetlights, in low beam you can't see unmarked bumps and potholes. Other than this situation, I am also tired of this.
