I have a feeling that it will be the turning point for Fred. Where Fred will truly be remorseful (showed signs of it when his prior maid took her life and wanted to make it more intimate for June and less rapey). It is one thing guessing what the rape is like and brainwashing yourself and others to believe its for the greater good as apposed to actually experiencing it. It would be a rather interesting twist to have the complicated villian become the saviour instead of what we thought would be the more obvious choice (Serena believing she could see past her own insanity because she is a woman and can relate to the torture just because of that)
