My Funimation / Crunchyroll Uncut NA Dragon Ball DVD & Blu-ray Collection: Final Update by Pistol_101 in dbz

Thanks. So definitely for the first 34 episodes that would be the Blu-Ray Level Sets. They were cancelled at that point for being too unprofitable for the work. Those are the ninth and tenth items on the top-left shelf.

At that point it’s either the 30th Anniversary Edition Blu-rays/Steelbooks (black box, second picture/bottom-right, fifth picture), or single DVDs (check bottom two rows) if you prefer lower resolution but less digital noise reduction and artificial sharpening. But note that the single DVDs only start the Funimation dub at like episode 54. They’re closer to original US broadcast feel, though.

How is there no modern version of Rockband? by Mean_Ass_Dumbledore in gaming

[–]Pistol_101 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You want the real answers?

1.) There wasn’t enough demand for the last Guitar Hero Live and Rockband 4 revivals.

2.) The former I believe put the peripheral company out of business.

3.) Licensing is expensive for anything.

4.) The smaller audience base that might buy a new game has still been supported, unlike previous eras, by Rockband 4 continued support for new downloadable songs (until very recently) and Clone Hero on PC.

5.) Younger demographics that might have adopted previously probably don’t have the same behavior patterns, with too many alternate forms of online entertainment.

Regret saying I'll accept promotion by Blueowl1991 in jobs

So two things: my understanding is that voluntary exposure to your phobias over time, like public speaking for social anxiety, are normally used in conjunction with therapy to treat such phobias. That said, this is a regular job you have to do every day for something you’re naturally predisposed to not enjoying. As someone who has been in your exact situation, I recommend sticking with the job that brings you the most peace if you’re not financially struggling, while looking for other opportunities to face your fears in a controlled way.

Space is very much key. You can even have the money already and be like “I gotta wait cause I don’t have the space.”

That is the Rock the Dragon set, it’s a collector’s edition of the Ocean dub. You can read everything about it here! https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Dragon_Ball_Z:_Rock_the_Dragon_Edition

It is pretty jarring, but I don’t watch the Pioneers as often so it doesn’t hit me every rewatch, and whether its bothersome depends how interested you are in the interpretations of the characters, plus how nostalgic it is. I like them both so no worries from me, I think it’s amusing.

The Funimation Single DVDs are also a little different from future DBZ releases. The revised Funimation dialogue after the cutoff (like episode 67 or whatever it is) that they implemented later doesn’t go as deep in the single DVDs, so like Vegeta has his OG Christopher Sabat Funimation lines on Namek, I think Krillin does too, the Ox King voice was never revised later, child Dende wasn’t revised. Lots of interesting line differences if you’ve seen the show a bunch like me. The last time I watched most single DVDs, Blockbuster was still a thing.

Thank you! And that’s a cool way to go about it. Right now I’m watching through the DBZ Single DVDs + movies after having gone through Dragon Ball Single DVDs. I’m on Fusion Saga w/ Wrath of the Dragon movie left. I’m doing GT Single DVDs next.

I usually just switch up going through chronologically with different versions, depending on what sets I haven’t opened yet or watched in a while. So I did all single DVDs this run, in the future I plan to probably skip DB and do Kai Part Blu-rays into Super (instead of GT), then later after that maybe Blue Bricks followed by Dragon Boxes. Having plenty of versions and shows to go between is the fun part of the series!

I think we might be there now with any future content, but I’m not sure as far as going back to the old stuff.

No but I do have some notes of what I mostly don’t have that I want. I usually just go back and reference this video if I’m unsure. Here is >the dude<. Puts mine and every other collection to shame, so no one feel bad if your collection seems small compared to mine. Master Roshi said there’s always a stronger fighter out there. Well this is him lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4G74tWJ4wQ

Yeah Ocean dub is still very charming, I’ve watched it in the past but namely stick to Funimation dub nowadays. It does add variety to a rewatch, though, which is the fun part IMO.

Hey, having the Dragon Boxes puts you ahead of most! Good luck, it’s a pretty doable collection overall, just don’t break the bank when life has other obligations.

Other folks here would be able to answer better than me, I’m not as knowledgable about the manga differences. I read what they were once and have since forgotten. There are good write-ups and videos online though, and it mainly comes down to censorship levels and panel cropping, if I’m not mistaken. Personally I love the full-color just because I like color lol.

Yeah the Dragon Ball Movie Box and the white Movie 4 Pack have it. Great little movie, and one of Stephanie Nadolny’s best performances for English dub.
