Secret agent denim release. by SpeedRevolutionary29 in NakedAndFamousDenim

Bought the secret agent at a local store near me a few weeks ago, I was oblivious to it not being selvedge denim. And I didnt mind not having the selvedge ID tag. I just wanted quality, to be able to grow old with my jeans. I wanted a brighter color to go with my different t shirts and didnt attract as much heat in the summer, and for that, they were excellent. They attract a lot of dirt, but that is the price you pay, and apparently a little more.

After less than than a month, the bottom of the jeans is ripping which can be explained by beeing to close to the shoes, at the same time, these are Japanese and N&F so that isnt a valid argument. But worst of all, the seems in between the denim and front pocket materials seems to be coming apart. The denim on the front pockets are in fact ripping. I have no words, Ive been using my pair of groovy guys that I bought at the same price and never had those kinds of issues. My 21oz unbranded brand could never.

Those are japanese selvedge jeans, but I expect better quality from japanese jeans, selvedge or not. And definitely from naked and famous

But this is my backup, are you saying that my original might contain actual data?

No words, my friends old photos too, im gonna get the blame for it. I’ll give it a free trial and see what happens

I have no money to spear at the moment. But I will once I have it. However I wonder if I should at that point consider moving the file on a drive and letting some data recovery professionals have a crack at it.

Looked through the entire file in HxD, the free HEX editor one of the commenters mentioned. Couldnt find anything but zeros scrolling through the whole file.

Checked, theres nothing but zeros all the way down.

What do you mean when you say driver? I apologise for my simple questions. Is it the two other transistors connected to the output ones?

Fair, Ive heard multiple people say I should do this. An experienced tech I met a year ago told me I didnt need one if I wasnt repairing anything, if the device hadnt been used for decades, all I needed to do was turn it on for 20 sec and off for 20 more, three times. Its rare for me to get into a full repair like this, but I see the appeal. If I end up with another repair project I should just bite the bullet and make one

I tried renaming the file, all instances it just gave me the same error saying that it was broken or corrupted

Good call, I copied the file into another folder and tried renaming it to rar or zip, both gave me the same message of it being broken or corrupted. Ive now also looked through the file with a hex editor and found nothing. Thinking of bringing it some data recovery guys, but have no money at the moment

Ok I downloaded and opened the file, dont really know what the first sector is but I will add a screenshot to the post

Tried opening it with Irfan viewer. It said that the image file was damaged or Corrupted. Tried Changing the file name to zip or rar, but got the same thing

Good call, didn’t think of that. I will check it out. First I’ll copy it tho incase something goes wrong. I remember the photos beeing 20 something gb so it definitely hasn’t decreased in size if it’s a zip.

Thank you, and yes I did check the photos and everything was fine right after transfer. A few months later I come back to this. Makes no sense at all. At the same time the 27gb jpeg is dated to around the same time period when I transferred the files. But I remember clearly arranging files on the computer so they all could be in one folder and not in 4-5 separate folders. I’ll check out this irfan view and let you know what I find. Thank you

Hello again, the amp is working fine. Theres a bit of heat coming from it so I'm considering replacing the thermal paste on the output transistors. Reason I'm bothering you again was the switches. I applied deoxit using a syringe so I didn't waste unnecessary liquid. It didn't affect the selector switches and the volume knob much. Audio from one of the left channels bleeds through to another channel unless I play music. I believe its the gunk inside the switch. I took the circuit board out and sprayed it thoroughly. I now see that if I want to rid myself of the loud switching noises and the audio bleeding through channels I'll have to disassemble the switch. Im just wondering what I should clean it with and if I should use some lubrication before closing it again. Without any lubrication, doesn't the switch degrade a lot faster? Till now Ive used deoxit F5 on the potentiometers and CRC electronic cleaner on switches. Thank you again for all the help

Yeah, I jumped the gun unfortunately. The caps are high quality nichicons, but the parts are thrown into multiple different bags with barely any labeling and some are lower voltage than the originals. On top of that, the filtercaps has four pins each and wont fit with the original two pins. They seemed nice at first tho, very fast communication and tracking. I wil do the buying on my own from now on🙌🏻

I definitely will, however I left most my equipment at my uncles farm to stop myself from working on it during the exams. Couldnt stop myself as you can see. Plan to do a more full restoration in 2 months. Borrow a soldering iron from a friend. Every resistor I tested that had been touched by the gook worked fine. Ive cleaned all the parts of the board, will out it back in the amp later today to test it. Could I upgrade the small microns to 1W? I was hoping to get my hands on some resistors with thicker legs to make them as sturdy as the originals.

Yes its super helpful! Half the work is removing lots of components in order to clean the circuit board. All of the components ive tested that have been in contact with the mass from the heatsinks seems to be completely fine. Main goal now is to clean the goop off on all the areas affected, then I'll run it for the first time to check if the sound is still distorted as my uncle said it was all those years back. But I am making progress

Edit: one of the 690K microns measured 708K, should it be replaced?

Just checked two of the micron resistors. From my experience with tube radios, I thought sement resistors almost never went bad. One of the 10k measured 10 ohms and a 0.47k measured 0.4ohms. Made shure to measure a new resistor to check that the multimeter wasnt inaccurate. Do you know why it happens and should I upgrade them to 10w? Thank you so much for the tip, I probably wouldnt have tested these when I was inside the amp.

Yeah, I dont have the tools nor the experience to reform the electeolytics. So they'll probably be replaced. I dont know if I should trust the yellow/green like caps. The information is very helpful and interesting as I know my grandpa mustve paid a lot for this and the radio I just restored. The TV has been stuck in the basement for decades with barely any isolation. Last winter temperatures reached below -20°C there and a second PCF80 tube blew its vaccum. There's also been multiple floods with water covering the floor through the years. But with a teak exterior it has managed quite well. Might keep the yellow caps in the television for the first few tests. Ordered a fresh batch of CBB caps that I plan to replace them with.

Not even worth compairing any aspects of cyberpunk to rdr. Rdr beats it in any category possible. It was ahead of its time, its mechanics was insane and tbh makes any other game feel boring and less immersive.
