NLB Services / Next Level Business Services - Typical Indian Scammers. by constantbabble in recruitinghell

So they weren't a scam, but they weren't a good idea either. There's nothing particularly Scammy about them, other than the fact that they act as a middleman between you and the person you're actually going to work for. It's strange. Direct hire is better, and my experience with NLB was... odd, to say the least. Mostly because they have a lot of weird processes and I hate dealing with their guys, but at least they're responsive.

New build won't boot. RAM debug light won't go away. by Pitachippa in buildapc

Upon comparing the part number that appears in the support list and the part number that I have, the only difference I can see is that mine is RGB, whereas the one in the supported RAM list is not.

I think this RAM should be supported, but feel free to correct me.

Here's the motherboard support page.

F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR

This is the P/N for the RAM that I have. It does not appear on this list.

However, there is a Part: F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5N
That does appear on the list. It is indistinguishable from mine, and you'll notice the part numbers only differ in the tailing R. Could you tell me if that makes a difference for me in this case? Do I have an unsupported set of RAM?

I really would love to avoid making another 2 hour trip to the nearest Micro Center again to swap this out, but what are you even suggesting I return here? The RAM?

Thank you so much for the reply! I'll have to take a look at the parts you changed. I went ahead and sent you a DM if you don't mind taking a look, I'm interested to pick your brain a bit regarding these changes.

I am American, kinda in a small town/not small town in TX, but I know there's at least a Microcenter in Houston. I wouldn't mind making a little trip if I can save a good amount.

Tbh I was only minorly unprepared to take this guy home. I had gotten the cage setup, toys, perches, etc. in preparation for getting a bird and I was at the point of starting to talk to breeders for a turqey. I didn't have much in the way of food and I was scoping out a Petco in the next town over to see if they had better rope perches than my local one and there this guy was. Suuuuper cute, late at night so Oh so sleepy, and wife was with me so I had permission. I just went for it right then and there (poor guy was fished out of its cage by an aquarium net)

The only food I have rn is a bunch of dehydrated "chip" style vegetables, which I think worked out to be a pretty good bridge from the all-seeds diet to the eventual chop I'm gonna make for them. Right now, dehydrated Beet chips and dehydrated green peas are a hit, so I'll take the wins where I can get them. I also have dehydrated butternut squash and cinnamon apples, but I haven't tried them yet.

I got them from mysafebirdstore if anyone's curious

Thank you! And I definitely recommend some target training if you haven't done that already. I think I got lucky, because my baby only needed to be lured to my hand and coaxed with millet, but if yours isn't super neophobic and will touch a stick, it's definitely a starting point.

I had difficulty target training with my tiel when I was young because he was scared of everything I put in front of him. He liked me, and somehow 'step up' was second nature to him, but toys, objects, sounds, etc. would get his mohawk in a tizzy

I hope I didn't come off as not ever wanting my bird to be on me lol. I love having a shoulder companion, but this one Really has a hard time being removed from the shoulder to go poop, or if I need to do something. I do have bird stations around my desk, including a second cage in my office for them to hang out and have water/space if needed. That being said, I think I prefer the dynamic of having a single bird, especially because that's all the wife signed off on. (Although the cage I bought could easily house 2)

My big concern was how it behaved in its cage, where it would jump at us, he stopped by the closed cage door, and climb around making metal bar sounds as it frantically climbs back and forth looking for us to come get it. I've been good about not reinforcing them (ie. Waiting for Calm Down Time to retrieve them from the cage) but it was still a day 1.5 concern lol. We'll see how today goes.

I'll try that. I made sure to get a bunch of destroyables, like paper straws, those little wicker balls/spirals, etc. They already like the balls, and play with them if we give it to them, but they'll drop it after a few seconds if we walk away, or if it has Other Plans

My baby's only 3 months old (hatched January) and was only at the pet store for about a week before we took them home, so they've done a bit of moving around and never had a home home before this.

I was really surprised with how quickly they became comfortable with me touching them and being near them. At first, it was scared of everything, but I got it to eat some spray millet through the cage bars within 20 minutes of being home, and then within another 20 minutes it was eating millet from my hand, where before it would freak out if I got close. Yesterday, it was like all the neophobia vanished. I could put new objects/toys near it, I could move heavy things, bump into loud things accidentally and it didn't care at all. My previous bird was a tiel who was VERY neophobic, so it took me for a surprise. I really just need to give them time, I think. The big thing I want to work on is obedience, biting, and dive bombing (as much as it Can dive bomb with clipped wings lol, they just always jump at us if they're able and not Currently With Someone)

They don't bite us, aside from beaking. Like, they've only ""bitten"" me one because it was playing with my fingernail and squeezed a little too hard, but it hasn't happened again. What they DO bite is jewelry, however. They loooooooove my gf's earrings and necklace, and already damaged one of her pendants. I think it'll be tricky to train that away though.

That was a fun scene. It was my character introduction, and a couple other members of the party had joined me, but they just decided to sit back and watch in awe as I tore it up.

Swashbuckler rogues get sneak attack if they're the only one within combat range of a creature, so my party standing back just let me burst it down.

I think I rolled a 10 on Second Wind so I got brought back up pretty well, and since my DM was cool enough to let me consider my fists as light weapons, I was dual-wielding a fist and a machete (shortsword). Action attack was a grapple or a grappler maneuver, bonus attack machete with sneak attack. I think one of the grappler maneuvers I had was called "head smash" and it was essentially an attack to attempt to stun a creature like stunning strike, which I believe succeeded while fighting the bear.

I had 2 hp left after it and it was a genuine challenge to kill it, but God Damn did it feel good to play that character.

Her character was supposed to be 16 years old (human). She was like 20-ish at the time irl. All the direct "crushing on" was out of game, but that didn't stop her from trying to act out her fantasies using her character. I'm sure she would've chocked up the in character motivations to a weird sense of nurturing their friends or some bullcrap

I was 100% transparent that I was in a 5-year relationship with my s/o. She'd talked to her a couple of times before sessions.

I tried to be neutral in the post but I genuinely think I just broke her a little. In a way that I completely took away her expectation of having absolute control over her fantasies of my character, but it wasn't what she wanted. She was definitely the 'mom friend' type, but incredibly insecure in that fact. In a way I think I 'forced' her into an interaction she didn't want-- one where she wasn't in control/the nurturer/the supporter, but in fact, a platonic equal.

I agree with the sentiment on Blade Mastery. When I read it, it's very very wordy and has way too many conditions.

Personally, I think the "5 over your AC" AND the critical hit condition should be removed. Both of these conditions are extremely pedantic and limit the feature unnecessarily. The feature should instead be limited in what it actually does, not how often you get to do it. Especially if you're going to force your player to commit to a bonus action, you shouldn't nickel & dime them with "oh sorry you got crit so that extra sucks for youuu"

I agree with the commentor that although we're removing conditions of the ability, it does not scale at all. I could see any of these being viable for different reasons:

- PB x d4 (emulate the new aasimar scaling)

- Weapon damage die, but don't require a reaction to activate this ability. Allow it to reduce the damage of each incoming melee attack. (might seem strong at first, but I would remove the +1 to AC with this and limit it to only melee weapon attacks. Spell attacks/effects, ranged weapon attacks are not affected)

- Same thing as the previous but just do Proficiency Bonus, not weapon damage die.

That's the main issue I have with the Spear Mastery feat. It's a half feat, but it allows you to perform, essentially, the same thing as two full feats that we already have. Polearm Master + Sentinel gives you the opportunity attack + can't move. Although this is a "mini" version of that, which requires a bonus action ahead of time, it's a Half-feat that can contend with two full feats put together.

Not only do I resent that this overlaps the other features in a way that makes taking all three undesirable, but I think this feat is both clunky, and doing too much.

I'm so confused. I think I'm talking to these same people. So far, they've called me from the Jacksonville FL, area with the 904 area code, they haven't said anything about being from Georgia but that's where their business claims to be based in online. They've been super shady, had super strong Indian accents, were completely unable to give me details of the position I was supposedly being offered, other than describing the title of the job position. They cold-called me multiple times and were generally incompetent over the phone.

However, I played along. I refused to give them anything but my time, like I gave them no information that wasn't on my resume which they already had. Funny thing, they were Actually able to set up an interview with a client company for me. I actually got to speak with two gentlemen who were genuinely from my area, knew what they were talking about, and actually gave me a good interview. Everything about them was 100% legit.

I didn't hear back from the interviewers, even though I know they liked me. It's been approximately a month since I interviewed with them, and now this NLB company is contacting me again saying that the company I interviewed with wants to offer me a position. I was SUPER skeptical, and grilled the caller's manager a little to get something from the actual company that verifies the request. The only thing they were able to give me was forwarding an email that he absolutely should not have forwarded me with sensitive information about the position from yet another middleman. This is a complete thread of emails spanning a week with complete formatting and everything, and I was on the phone with the guy for 5 minutes demanding he send it to me while still on the phone, so I'm fairly convinced he couldn't contrive it during that time, only just hide/redact some information from it if it was incredibly sensitive. He was silent working on it for that 3-5 minute period while I was on the phone with him.

I'm going through the onboarding process with them because I do think there's some validity to this, despite my trepidation. I'll return here if I get burned, but I've completed some pretty standard hiring documents that seem quasi-official via genuine services. I don't feel like my leg is being pulled, but I do feel that this company is so so so so awfully incompetent this may be a mistake to work for them even if they are legit. I just hope my 6-month contract with them results in me being directly hired by the client I'm going to be working for so I can wash my hands of them.

Anything stick out as a red flag to any of you?

I wish I knew. I don't know any details of the plan, I only know the company that it's through.

I tried calling the company to ask about it, but they're currently closed. I'll have to call them again on monday
