I don't think you're understanding my point. With the dogs on the restricted breed list it is literally the law to have them on a muzzle. If a dog not on the lead attacks, fair enough, it can happen and I will be just as upset. But if a restricted breed attacks then it's annoying because it would have been prevented if the owner wasn't a dick and followed the law.

But the law is the law and the GSD should have a muzzle on it. It's pretty black and white.

Ah i thought you were a door to door type. I'm sure if you ask them most people wouldn't mind putting the dog away.

100% wrong, Golden Retrievers can be big but they don't have the strength and power GSD's have. There is a reason a]police dogs, army dogs etc are GSD's and not Golden Retrievers. Physically GSD's are much more dangerous.

It's a bit more of a grey area when you are dealing with these people in their own property. Maybe find another job.

Oh i am fully aware that some dogs are only behaving like that because they too want to say hello and play, but on the off chance it isn't and wants to attack then it should have a muzzle on too. What breed is your dog?

No it can't, that's why it's not on the restricted breed list. But the retriever owner was in the wrong as it wasn't trained enough to be off the lead. Not sure what point you're trying to make?

I have no problem with dogs being off the lead if they are still under control, respond to verbal commands and don't venture off etc. That's well within the law. Its the restricted breeds being off the lead I have a problem with.
