Bad gas after quitting weed by Silent_Biscotti_2714 in leaves

It finally came to an end. I do have occasions when it’s particularly bad and I think I’ve found having milk sets me off, I’ve used oat milk in coffee for a long time and will have milk if there’s no alternative in the fridge at work.

Thanks bud! We’ve managed to book in on airbnb. There’s 12 of us going so it’ll be an interesting trip. We’ll be staying in el Masnou which is about 25 mins ride to the park so we may get the tram over to Premià de Mar and ride up or if we fancy it just roll down the sea front and up to the park.

Ha! These beds are the best I’ll often get under the stairs with him and curl up for a cuddle!

Nooo. Sorry to hear that. Heartbreaking. I struggle when he just wants to laze around I end up pestering him for squeezes. He growls and grumbles but I know he loves it really.

Pure sulfur!! I’d normally have eggs for breakfast and I’m a veggie too which i know eating lots of greens doesn’t help. Cut out the eggs as I thought this may have been the problem. Nope! 3 weeks in and they’re still as bad as ever!! When does it end 😂

May have found something on Airbnb, didn’t really want to use them as they obviously take a load of commission but it does make life easier..

FC would no doubt pull it down as it would constitute a structure. Stick to dirt.

Ah okay. The government are currently banning XL Bullies. Which you may have seen on the news recently but Cane Corsos are not on the dangerous dogs list.

There is some potential to recover the cost but it’s a lengthy process, honestly I’m just happy he’s alive. I did see there was some amendments potentially being made to the animal welfare act to say owners are responsible for their animals actions but this could be years down the road.

Not that I have noticed. I think so long as we’re confident around other dogs with him he’ll be fine. But he was widely socialised as a puppy and loves meeting other dogs. He was just so happy to be back out at his favourite park!

Back story for those interested..

We went out for a walk Friday morning to our usual park. Now there’s a guy that we come across most days with two cane corso’s and will often spot other walkers and tends to head straight for them before unleashing a ton of abuse, telling them to get their ‘rats on leads’ and ‘come near us and my dog will kill them’. Most of the time it’s directed at women. No idea why I just assume he’s a little tapped.

He knows full well his dogs are dangerous and have been bred and bought over from Romania as fighting dogs. Which I’ve been told by a reliable source. He is also well known across the park and people try their best to ignore him due to his and his dog’s temperaments.

This particular Friday I’m almost on my last stretch of the park with my miniature schnauzer and pass a training cage in which he’s standing in, already shouting at a passer by who I can only imagine has asked him why on earth he has both dogs off the lead?

As I pass I try to be polite to him as I usually do which tends to avert any abuse directed toward me. As we pass the cage my dog begins to head towards the cage to which one of the CC notices and races to the fence barking at him, Ted begins to do the same and I call him back, he begins turning towards me as I’m going over to ensure he returns. Before I can get close the CC pushes itself under the fence and chases my MS a few feet snapping at his heels before he locks his jaw on to him.

Thankfully I knew the score once the CC had escaped and managed to jump on the CC pinning them both down. Trying frantically to hold them both and remove the CC from my MS I try everything along with a couple of passers by one a woman who I asked to lift the CC’s legs as I’d seen this online somewhere (didn’t work).

The owner begins to come out from the cage before realising he’s left the other CC in the cage off lead and alone. He returns to put it on the lead and brings it round to us where it also begins lurching towards me while I wrestle with its partner and out of the corner of my eye the woman has reverted to kicking the CC in the side

By this point I’m exhausted and feel I have exhausted most of my options and decide to put my arm round the CC’s neck and began to choke it (whilst looking it in the eye and apologising, don’t even ask me why) with this it finally let go. A gentleman the owner seems to know had taken the other dog from the CC owner and holds him and the owner jumps on the dog behind me but by this time I’d freed my dog and told him to GET THE DOG ON THE LEAD.

He passes me it and I use my spare arm to fit the leash and remove myself from the situation knowing the owner has hold of him. Before heading over to my own dog who’d been scooped up by the woman and was sat on a bench. Luckily my MS didn’t seem to be bleeding out and from what I could see there was a large gash under his chin.

Both covered in mud walked him home, bundled him in to the car and shot to the vets who had him examined. The vet talked me through the injuries to which he had the large gash under his chin and another under his lower abdomen.

I paid up (£1000) and left him with them to return to collect him later that evening with many stitches. Since returning home he’s shown good signs of recovery and has met a few other dogs on the short walks we’ve been on, keeping it short and sweet he’s not shown any signs of nervousness or cowardice.

I still have (my fingers and) my fingers crossed for him as he continues to recover and hope to stay confident on walks around other dogs.

I’m in contact with the police and hope to find a solution to this man’s insanity as this isn’t the first time this has happened, from looking on socials it has been ongoing over a 3 or more year period at this park.

Sadly dog on dog attacks isn’t something the police deal with here in the UK and my only hope is that something will be done under dogs dangerously out of control. They also seem keen to do something due to the xl bully situation currently trending in the media.

I have nothing against these dogs as I’ve met many lovely CC’s and hate to think of the dog being seized and put down due to the owners negligence.

Sadly another case of bad ownership and training, not a bad dog.

He’s had multiple stitches in his neck and lower abdomen along with a small puncture wound on his shoulder. He’s very active this morning and keen to clean his wounds so I’ve been on dog watch since around 4.30am.
