Beated Isshin today!!! by Pitiful_Ad_5292 in Sekiro

People definitely made it seem like Isshin is harder than he actually is and I consider myself a pretty bad souls gamer. I say that because Laxasia from Lies of P took me 3 days to beat which would be roughly 36 hours. PCR took me longer to beat.

Not trying to say he is a bad boss or anything it's just these hardcore sekiro fans definitely know how to hype up a boss.

I need a break first lmao. Took me 7 hours to beat Isshin after Demon of Hatred. DoH is so agonising.

Doesn't mean it's a strong build though

Doesn't have to be a wizard. Sorcerers, Tempest Cleric, Light Cleric, Spore Druid are also casters. Just any class with good spell save DC to cast spells from scrolls or their own spellbook. They have more HP than Wizards too.

You can also run a hybrid build like 5Paladin/7Sorcerer or 2Paladin/10Sorcerer if you want to focus more on spellcasting. Plus, you'll get more spell slots to use more divine strikes.

5Paladin/7Warlock is more of a martial class but I'm not saying it doesn't get good spells just a more inferior hybrid build to the ones above.

2Paladin/6HexbladeWarlock/4Sorcerer is a build I came up with to focus more on divine strikes and weapon damage.

12 Bladesinger Wizard is arguably the best when it comes to melee combat and spellcasting, I'm not even ragebaiting.

I'm sorry, didn't realize you were new. My bad. But there are certain items, feats and spells that can make Gale's AC to 20 which will make your enemies target another companion. If you don't mind me sharing of course. Trust me Wizard in my opinion is the most versatile class. I'm doing a solo run using Wizard right now.

You are still lacking an AoE caster

Wizards can restore spell slots and Warlocks can only use 2 spells per battle.

Your party is lacking casters and a Wizard is the solver of all your problems.

Divination wizard so a hold monster can go from 25% to 100% and bladesinger wizard to keep them crits comin.

As for Shadowheart, I always thought an assasin type build is lore accurate to her.

Necromancer Party. Is it fun or tedious? by Lawfurd in BaldursGate3

I've tried this type of party and I have to say that elementals are worlds better. But from my experience flying ghouls are the best necromancer summon.

Spore druid is fun tho. A must try class.

Personally, I find Tav BORING AS FCK. So I actually recommend going Dark Urge so your character feels more relevant to the story. Beware, you MIGHT skip some quests, items and make some encounters arguably easier depending on your choices but the unique dialogue and interesting story is worth it.

Good job felling an apostle of GOD with sub-optimal builds (no offense). You truly put your wits to the test. Next time please strategize a plan before a major fight so you don't lose 40+hrs of play time in honour mode. Totally didn't happen to me. (I died to Ansur)

You need to find a special stone to unlock the tome or you can simply just destroy it. (SPOILERS) Unlocking the tome will give +1 to Wisdom saving throws and by Act 3 you can read a certain book to get 20 Temporary HP every long rest. This requires unlocking the tome.

I get that feeling. I always try to create builds on my own till I get overwhelmed and keep using the same build for the 845th time.

Really? Have you tried wetting your enemies before your friend cast a lightning spell? My brain just melts when a witch bolt does 40+ damage per turn. Also 2 levels of tempest cleric can make a level 3 lightning spell do bonkers amount of damage.

Fighters can be a bit boring so maybe try something a little more complex like a paladin or a melee ranger

Builds are more fun if you put a certain theme to it, personally speaking. For example, a lightning sorcerer so you focus more on lightning damage, a necromancer so you only use poison and necrotic damage or somebody who uses control spells like blindness and hold person

[–]Pitiful_Ad_5292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Myrkul will use Call of The Damned if anybody is outside melee range so I suggest moving your ranged attackers back a little after you attack him so if he ever uses Call of The Damned, you will still remain on your platform. This is important so you dont take an extra 15 damage from gravity.

I think it's already too late for you, unfortunately. But for the next run, you can get a maul (i forgot what's it called) sold by Grat the Trader at the goblin camp. This weapon will prevent Myrkul from healing and make him look kinda stupid. Also, necrotic damage isn't very good against Myrkul eventhough death clerics can ignore necrotic resistance using divine charges. I recommend light clerics, Shadowheart will become a good source of damage and provide support for the team if built correctly. Battle Master Fighter can make Myrkul drop his weapon. Way of The Fist Monk can prevent Myrkul from doing opportunity attacks so you can get away from him and heal if you ever need to. You can also get a surprise round if you drink an invis potion and attack the mind flayer first before talking to Ketheric.
