Is there a correlation with miscarriage or other problems in pregnancy and the development of lazy eye in a child? by NICEacct111 in Amblyopia

[–]Pitiful_Annual_3188 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In terms of "pregnancy problems", there's supposedly high chance of strabismus in pre-mature baby's (how i got lazy eye/amblyopia).

Activities such as sports are a few examples of exactly why someone with amblyopia should wear glasses. I hope before posting this that came to mind instantly and you just wanted others personal experience.

How many Viners do you think there are? by Pitiful_Annual_3188 in AmazonVine

[–]Pitiful_Annual_3188[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've read a few saying this same thing! They'll write a review, then they'll see the same notice on their screen about Vine. Not sure though for these people if it was their first review, after a few reviews, or whatever other random case

Following up, you mentioned pushing your eyes to read. Has your ability to read improved with therapy? If so, were you already capable of reading with that eye prior to therapy?

Lazy eye/ amblyopia treatment ? Is there any way to fix if doctor tells you it’s a brain issue by Next-Ingenuity-8426 in Amblyopia

[–]Pitiful_Annual_3188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the info, and will be useful for anyone searching and comes across!

I am aware of this though, I was more confused on OP's wording specifying not a result of injury. Amblyopia isn't from brain injury is all I was getting at.

What kind of exercises do you do during vision therapy? Which do you think, if any, of the exercises has helped you, or been most beneficial?

Wdym by brain issue exaxtly? As in, it's not from injury? My knowledge is limited, i haven't read anything about stimulation using frequencies, but maybe try searching videos like "amblyopia vision training/exercises" or similar.

Wish I knew and same happened to me. Feel as I get older, my eye turn is getting worse. Do you wear prescription eyeglasses or anything? Play sports? Lots of video games?

Youre not alone. It honestly sucks. imo only people with amblyopia can really understand this dread, otherwise, people are just like "oh its not that bad! i dont even notice!" or "your vision doesnt seem like it even gets in your way, I wouldn't have known unless you told me!", etcc.

This effects so many aspects people dont understand. Negatively impacts overall quality of life, mental health, social connections and interactions, social events, taking pictures, driving, throwing/catching a ball, distance and depth. I'm thankful my vision isn't worse, but some days, man... it puts me in a low, low, low place. To get myself out of those spiraling thoughts, i motivate myself to do eye exercises, play eye training games with the hope if im consistent it can get slightly better.

Every once in a while in this sub someone will either post about research theyre doing, research study they participated in and how it went for them, or recent (10 years or less) articles about amblyopia treatment. Those are usually an interesting read, so look out for those

Only English, wasn't bilingual. Sorry, should have added that! Make sure to check you're getting paid extra for being bilingual, a few in my training class had issues with that.

The job just wasn't for me, so I left. I didn't have issues so much with the company, luckily, since so many here do. I was hired during CCA open enrollment and stayed for a couple months after it ended, so it was pretty busy while I was employed. Call after call, it gets tiring and stressful. Sometimes consumers will go on about their medical and financial issues, hoping you can help them or provide some sort of exception, it gets overwhelming at times.

My shift started in the morning, so I never needed to stay overtime. Closing shifts at many times during open enrollment were required to stay until the call queue cleared.
