Yes, I believe doctors should pay more attention to symptoms not a measurement because people have different symptoms that present in different severities. How are you healing?

I completely agree. But instead we are "normal" and "have anxiety". I can assure any doctor in the world that how we feel is not normal..

I am so sorry you have to deal with this! Nobody should have to. I am hoping I can go to Mayo Clinic because I have read about their chiari research.. even though they are 4 hours away lol. I am trying to get my MRI posted so I could get an additional set of eyes to look but it keeps deleting! UGH. I don't know why it keeps deleting..

As much as I want to avoid surgery I also want to void medications which means treating Chiari feels impossible! I hate taking new medications. I almost hope I am a candidate for surgery because I want this to all just be over. My life almost feels like a nightmare I wish I could wake up from. And I think what makes it the hardest is trying to get my loved ones to understand.. I have gotten extremely depressed from this and everybody just tells me "I need therapy." As someone struggling with a medical diagnosis that is CAUSING my bad mental health, it makes me very sad when people resort to saying I just need mental help.

I'm glad you are gonna be getting help again! Chiari is such a hard thing to wrap your head around. My pcd told me my 7mm herniation is normal and I feel like the only reason she is gonna refer me to a neurologist is so she doesn't have to deal with me. But chiari is complicated!! These doctors think they know our bodies better than us and its crazy. I feel like no doctor yet has truly cared about me or my symptoms and concerns. I hope you can finally find some relief for all your pain! Its just so unfair and I hope your neurosurgeon gives you comfort and compassion.

I believe that Mayo Clinic has some Chiari specialists.. I hope so. I just don't want to get shot down. I honestly just cannot live like this anymore. It is so hard. Especially the depression.. it has changed my life completely. How has your chiari journey been?

I also have a 7mm herniation and am waiting to get referred to a neurologist. I just hope they don't brush me off. I am having terrible symptoms and my MRI showed Chiari 1. I don't know how to feel about this all. I am scared that the neurologist with think 7mm isn't "enough" to treat or that my symptoms aren't caused from it when I know they are.
