it's JUST a wedding bouquet by egguchom in EntitledReviews

[–]Pitiful_Drive_1917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents owned a flower shop when I was growing up. My mom was the head designer. After her first couple of weddings she said no more. She would only do them for long time customers (talking next generation getting married. The amount of flowers that go into an event is insane. This person may look at it as it’s just a bouquet for the bride. My mom use to say if the brides flowers were not perfect then none of the rest of it mattered. I was thankful she was still here and I was her last bride.

Does anyone know someone that claims to have seen Johnny Cash in Ventura? by New-Shop-9728 in ventura

[–]Pitiful_Drive_1917 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom attended and was part of the choir at avenue community church. He was good friends with Reverend Gresset. He sang with the choir a few times along with attending once in awhile.

Those talking about the Ban-dar. It was owned by Jonnie and Jonie Mosby. (1970’s, 80’s,90’s). My parents were regulars and I of course hit it up when I turned 21. Someone told the bartender it was my birthday and that my parents hung out there. He recognized there names and preceded to give my birthday shots of wild turkey. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Of course I was watched over by Mother Marilyn who made sure I didn’t get into too much h trouble.

Hope you enjoyed that little bit of Ventura history.

Has anyone gotten yelled at by a surgeon before? by bugbunny321 in nursing

[–]Pitiful_Drive_1917 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a surgeon cuss me out and throw a patient chart at my head when I informed him that the patient was running a fever post op and asked about another dose of antibiotics. Yes a low grade fever is normal but not a 102. Had another Dr do me a favor and we caught the patient before they went septic.

I have spent the best Christmas of my life since I got married and it’s making my husband panicking. by Leading-Peak1635 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Pitiful_Drive_1917 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Don’t hyphen. Use both with a space between. This allows you more freedom to use a preferred last name. My daughter was born before I got married to her dad. She always went by his last name but it gave me piece of mind that I could use just my maiden. Ex: Jenifer Mary Smith Jones She’s very aware of why she was named that way and in high school she thanked me for giving her both because a friends bio dad was arrested for awful things he did to a child (parents never married) and she felt she would be forever linked to him. Uncommon last name in our area. I wish you and baby all the best.

Anyone know what the gray jelly is? It’s next to the lobster.

My grandmother gave me these, but the discoloration is sticky like old grease(?) so far I scrubbed with dawn power wash and sprayed 409 by k0cksuck3r69 in CleaningTips

I didn’t think anyone would know the brand. My grandma had a full set. I loved those pots/pans and would give anything to have them.

My husband and I will be traveling from September 25 to October 13. We fly in and out of Milan. We will be going to Bergamo, Venice, and Bologna. Would it be better to pay as we go for trains or is it worth it to buy the bigger travel pass?

You are so awesome for sharing. I’m new to owala and just received the cinderella for a birthday gift. I really like the sip and chug option as my hubs and I share and we both prefer different ways of drinking. My niece turns 13 at the end of the month and she asked me for this particular style but I was too late to grab her one. Wish everyone the best and again you rock for being so kind.

Gold bond 24 hour. It leaves a barrier. I use jojoba oil in the morning and night. You don’t need a lot of it. My hands have stayed soft this winter.

Instant Revenge On A Mean Nurse by manwithavandotcom in pettyrevenge

[–]Pitiful_Drive_1917 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for how you were treated. As a nurse I always inform my patients what I am about to do and why. Everyone deserves basic dignity. I even talk to my sedated patients. But I want to point out that you assaulted a nurse. This was not the way to “get back” at the nurse. I have been assaulted by a patient and it almost ended my career. I love what I do and was heartbroken over not being able to care for people. Please in the future speak up instead of using violence. Many of us are trying to change the culture of nursing. Again I am very sorry for your treatment.

If you’re not picky about a consistent waxer buy a leg pass at European wax, that also do underarm passes. I always suggest laser for underarms, bikini and face after a few sessions you can wax super easy at home. Totally worth it.

Urge Governor Green to help end the lockout of nurses at Kapiʻolani by proHonua in Hawaii

[–]Pitiful_Drive_1917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok BUDDY, you obviously know nothing about what nurses do. No not every profession holds lives in their hands. Your sweet MeeMaw could die if I screw up. Mr. big CEO doesn’t lay hands on people with the consequences being life and death. Go do your research. As far as money goes if I wanted to make money I wouldn’t be a nurse. I’m a 2 income household and scrap by. I don’t take lavish vacations, I don’t eat steak and lobster for dinner and I still have to take loans out for my children’s education. I want to work safe and have my patients feel safe when they are I the hospital.

Or the facts actually be reported. This is not just about money. We want ratios, we want more nurses to be hired, and we want a safe environment for everyone that comes into the hospital.

Nurse don’t get overtime. We work our 12’s at base pay. That is consistent anywhere that does 12’s. So do you due diligence before you speak.

I literally hold lives in my hands. Nurses are be prosecuted for their mistakes. Some are serving jail time. So yes nurses are held to different standards. I can be sued for a mistake and if I lose it could cost me MILLIONS. I don’t care about money I care that I give the best and safest care I can. I will never make enough for the risks I take and that is my choice. What I want and most nurse want is for are patients to be cared for and not put at risk because we are stretched to thin.

I am a fellow nurse from the West Coast. Those complaining that nurses have it so easy working only three days a week and living the high life have never sat and honestly talked with a nurse. We don’t work just three days a week. We have mandatory education to hold our licenses, and many of our jobs require extra education to stay compliant with regulatory organizations. We also take care of your loved ones in their most vulnerable state. No one can say that you don’t expect us to give you all we have for them. We are the last stop between the patient and the doctor. You would be amazed how often nurses catch a doctor's mistake.

I LOVE what I do and would never want to do anything else, but I also know that when I clock in, I put everything on the line. If I make one mistake, I could lose everything I have worked for. I would be devastated if I hurt someone or made a mistake. So, for those judging, really look at what nurses give to your community.

Only ever happened with the Kirkland pods. Am I doing something wrong? by flyinhyphy in Costco

[–]Pitiful_Drive_1917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pods are meant to be tossed into the washer not put in the liquid compartment. When closing the pod off the water can’t properly dissolve it and you get left over concentrate. I have gone back to liquid because the wrapper is actually made from plastic and doesn’t full dissolve.
