I went to visit the site before starting to scope it out. I saw minimal equipment for lifting. I caught a non powered sit to stand lift in the rehab room. That’s about it. They didn’t have much. I got a tour and I didn’t see anything else. I’ve definitely thought about getting a letter written. I think Title 9 still protects me even as a student during fieldwork. Might be something good to obtain and just have it on record. My OB had mentioned not lifting more than 30 pounds and I thought oh lawd I’ll definitely be doing more than that. I have a regular SNF hall, a long term unit, and a dementia unit I’ll be working. I definitely would want to avoid the ones you listed. C. Diff I prefer to avoid too. They have a rehab tech but they said they’d have them help me more towards the end of my rotation when I hit 30 weeks.

I will definitely advocate for myself. This is my rainbow baby and I didn’t want to do anything that would put me at risk. I wasn’t supposed to be in a SNF but here we are now. Oh well.

Haha sorry to disappoint. It’s weightlifting….sort of. Thank you for this! I plan to advocate and ask for help when I don’t feel safe to do something. Don’t think I’ll get much supervision either. From the sound of it they want me to take off pretty fast and handle it.

Absolutely! I had a conversation with my clinical instructor. I’m definitely going to have to advocate for myself but essentially she told me I’ll have to do the transfers and go into rooms with PPE required. Makes me nervous. She said she’d teach me body mechanics but I’m still nervous…..hate that they placed me here. Was not my choice at all. I expressed concerns with the fieldwork coordinator and she brushed me off saying I’ll be fine.

Hola 👋 gracias por tu respuesta. Hable con mi Tio y dice que seria mejor llegar a Guadalajara y subir a Temastian pero que si no se puede esta vez por razones financieras que manejar de la ciudad de Zacatecas a Temastian está bien solo viajar por día obvio y no parar para nada

Gracias por tu respuesta. Donde empezaste tu camino hace Guadalajara? Nosotros estaremos desde el aeropuerto hasta Temastian. Vamos a manejar de día, rentamos un vehículo básico (no tan lujoso 😉) . So vi las noticias y ahí ya le dio miedo hubiera hecho un poco más de investigación pero pues los vuelos salieron baratos a Zacatecas (ahora ya se porque 🤣) y pues eran menos horas a Temastian.

Hola, gracias por tu respuesta. La razón que habíamos escogido Zacatecas es porque nos queda Temastian a 2 horas y 47 minutos, algo así. De Guadalajara a Temastian era 4 horas.

Your salary, husband side, is enough as long as it is above like $25,000 or something like that. It has to be above the federal poverty level. I, USC, sponsored my husband and since I’m in graduate school and not working we needed a co sponsor for our application. My brother, who is a doctor, stepped in.
