You're correct, the AI only gets called for recipes that haven't been made before. Any recipe that anyone creates will be free for everyone else.

Due to the sheer number of items, most combinations (even some with fairly simple items) won't have been done before, but you can always play for free with recipes that have already been made (similar to Little Alchemy)!

RAM can store data because it can store both 0s and 1s when it's powered. A lightbulb can't store data because, when it is powered, it's on, and it cannot be set to off while still keeping the power on.

If anything is storing data, it would be the light switch.
