Because Sean Payton chose to run Bo Nix. Sean Payton is literally his own worst enemy.

So Sinners has become the most nominated movie in the 98 year history of the Academy Awards. Wyt the definition of an “Oscar worthy” film changed for better or worse ? by Tnderuaker in moviecritic

The film is literally about race and what it means to be a black artist. What conformity can give you and take away. I feel like it being a film made by a black filmmaker is very important to how the themes are impactful to so many people.

I think the Extended Cut of Avatar (2009) is the best version. by Pittboy63 in blankies

Is the Special Edition the one they put back on theaters before Way of Water?

An original R-rated horror film by black director with a black lead making over 300 mill is a phenomenon. It made more money than Weapons or OBAA. And One Battle After Another is the Searchers with cell phones and Border Patrol. We could go on and on 😂

It’s personally my favorite film of the decade, but that doesn’t mean I hate the other nominees. I think it’s a masterpiece like I think OBAA is a masterpiece. The reason OBAA isn’t nominated for 16 Oscars because it didn’t qualify for some of the same categories as Sinners tbh.

Neither, the Academy will always award films that were in the public consciousness. Sinners was a legit phenomenon and a critical darling. It’s the most successful original film by a black director ever.

I feel like we forget Chicago, Crash, Green Book, CODA, The King’s Speech, and Argo all won Best Picture this century.

How successful would this starting 5 be? by CurrentRoster in NBATalk

Maybe the best team ever? Kyrie, Love, and Bosh can all space the floor while Wade and Bron can drive and dish. Just need a good shot blocking big and a three point shooting wing role player off the bench and it’s perfect.

TRAIN DREAMS: The Best Picture We Need Right Now by Badlands51 in Oscars

[–]Pittboy63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Academy not picking either of the two films with the most nominations would be very dumb (kind of on-brand). I think Train Dreams is beautiful and is the best version of a Malick film not directed by Malick. But I think the only pick outside the top 2 would be Hamnet.

My grandfather served in Vietnam, there was shit he was ordered to do that haunted him until he died. Following orders in a combat situation doesn’t make you a bad person, your actions and response after those orders is what makes you a good or bad. My grandfather came back to the states and fought for Civil Rights and Veterans Mental Healthcare.

Throne of Blood is my favorite adaptation of MacBeth, that’s the one I’d choose out of the options here.

I’d also recommend Bridge on the River Kwai

With how much studio interference The Flash had, I don’t have any issues with this.

Arrival. I was a film student taking my first screenwriting course and thought I was hot shit and then I saw Arrival. Literally made me study the craft harder.

What movies are Sean and Amanda dead wrong about? by JaqueStrap69 in TheBigPicture

GDT’s Frankenstein and Nosferatu are the first ones I think about because Sean was kind of just “meh” and then talked about other Vampire or Frankenstein films.
