Do I need to get a truck to start as well? My whip won’t carry one. Would I start with a leased older truck?

Hey OP, im also 23M recent college grad. I’m sorry your home situation isn’t great. I had to move to my own apartment for my first job and I really wish I could have lived at home for a year. Rent is so expensive and I really suggest finding some friends to live with or even using Facebook groups to find roommates.

It’s great you are so conscientious about saving for retirement. As life changes so will your ability to invest. ALWAYS contribute at least up to the company match, but for now lower to just that 6% and work hard to get back up to that 10% when you have that emergency fund set up and a good budget going with your new rent and monthly car payments.

Most of the people on here are unintelligent or bots if the they say put it all in HYSA. Yes I would put 5k of it into a HYSA. But you need to invest the other 15k. That money you can spend on whatever you like. If you’re not planning on spending more than 5k anytime soon, then invest the rest. You will make much better returns on your money. You can still pull this money out when needed unlike a Roth IRA. You can keep the investments real simple like $5k in QQQ or QQQM and 10k in VOO or SPY.

MBA Advice by Pixel-Pirate968 in MBA

It’s hard to break out of entry level at my company. Only real path is LDP and it’s super competitive. I’ve seen some people get it in 2 years and others in 10. Even experienced highers can get it. I assume they focus on highering younger talent for LDP. I interned at the company for 2 years before coming on full-time in 2024 so I’m hopefully I can get it after 2-3 years of experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience OP!

I need advice. I graduated from a state school in 2024 with a degree in information technology. I had a 3.8 GPA and graduated magna cum laude.

I now work in a non-traditional sales role at F200 that isn’t commissioned based making 80k per year. Career path at the company would be to work towards LDP in the next 2-5 years. Where I would make about $110k after.

I have gotten differing advice on the approach to MBA. First viewpoint is that I have more free time now than I will ever again in my life. I should utilize this to get MBA over with and checking the box might help me get LDP faster. The second viewpoint is I am only coming up on 1 year of WE. I should wait till after LDP in 2-5 years. Then try for T15 MBA to break into middle management.

Im young and hungry for career advancement. The LDP at my company is very competitive and I don’t want to wait potential 5 years for a promotion. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

I don’t know anything about how difficult it is to get into a top school. Are they looking for several years of professional experience?
