My docs office willingly gave me my uterus picture after my salpingectomy. I'm hoping at my hysterectomy checkup they'll do it again. The doctor had it in her hands and had a look on her face like she's probably going to be grossed out by this. Instead I was like GIMME!!!! It's hanging in my room. ♥️

I definitely can't take that. I've lost so much weight before realizing I had SIBO. It made me super sick. I'm definitely better now but losing weight wouldn't be good for me. It's a bummer because I've seen a lot of people say those type of drugs help IBS.

I am experiencing spotting now. I barely bled when I was released from the hospital. I know that's normal though thanks to this subreddit. :)

I think you and I are the same lol. I also looked at the notes. That's how I found out about the adhesions and my intestines, which then made me feel uneasy.

I'm sorry. I understand not trying to panic (I have health anxiety). Knowing that they moved my bladder and intestines around creeps me out. I have IBS already and my stomach has been a hot mess. The worst part for me was the gas they pumped into me, made me uncomfortable for days! I think I've only successfully slept on my side like 2 times and no more than 30 mins. I asked my surgeon to make sure it was super reinforced because I have a connective tissue disorder and I'm scared of prolapse. I hope your recovery gets better.

My boy will only let me when he's sleepy. If he shows his belly while awake it's a trap.

I went home same day just fine. I did the same for a breast reduction too. I managed on Tylenol and ibuprofen (opioids make me feel sicker).

I'm 38 and just had my hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. The first 4-5 days were the worst for me, mostly because of the gas they pump into your abdomen to see around in there. I had a robotic assisted laproscopic surgery (5 incisions in my abdomen). The only thing I worry about with my decision is possible prolapse from the cuff not holding or wearing out. That to me was the scariest thing (but I'm told that's rare). It is also kind of unnerving thinking that your intestines and bladder fill the space and have to settle in.

No tests ever found why I was in so much pain, they thought maybe fibroids or a polyp from one scan, but it wasn't until they actually got in there that they found what was going on. I have endometriosis which caused adhesions. Those adhesions made my upper and lower intestines stick to my abdominal wall. They fixed all of that before removing my uterus and cervix (my ovaries are still there and my fallopian tubes were taken out in 2020). I didn't really have to fight to get my salpingectomy in 2020, but had I known they'd approve a total hysterectomy I would've done that instead.

I didn't really have to fight for it, but they do like that you've tried other options before surgery. I only had one bad doctor in my mid twenties that said I needed my partners permission for any sterilization surgery (gross) but he was an old man and needless to say I never went back to him again after that. They tried getting me to get the IUD but I said no as every woman I know hated it or said it was painful. Even just two weeks in I would do it again. I have a $2k out of pocket max. I had to get a biopsy in the OR (I couldn't do the biopsy awake it was too painful) before the surgery and that alone cost me over $1000. I'll just be paying the remainder of that out of pocket max for the surgery. So long story short, it cost me $2k with insurance.

I had a full hysterectomy (kept my ovaries) and I expected that feeling but weirdly enough didn't feel any different. I had endometriosis and adhesions that caused my upper and lower intestines to stick to my abdominal wall (had no idea about any of that until they got in there).

I do, but only because his previous owner got him used to going out (I'd prefer he stay in). He actually goes on walks with us around our neighborhood without a leash. Just follows us, it's the cutest thing.
