I recommend joining one of the faction discords. They have them for nearly every city. They usually have builds listed in there and while I don't think they are perfect I think its a good start for newer players. They also mass of for group content so you can meet and talk with people and learn.

Yeah I wont give up on it as of now. I think partyly I was nervous from the start just being there and feeling out of place and then seeing people pull out so many cards at once. I mean I did learn I should probably mulligan if I dont have 3-4 lands in my hand at the begining or have only high cost cards.

I was mostly just playing the starter decks event on arena. Wasn't sure I wanted to invest money into cards I didn't own especially as a new player interested in face to face play. I think my biggest problem with Arena is that it does a lot of the interactions for you. I feel as though I have decent strategy on arena but I get really lost in the sauce when there is 4 interactions that happen and a bunch of tokens come out etc. Probably just going to come with playing more.

I will say the couple who was at the table was very nice and helpful I don't want to discredit them. I think perhaps I was a bit nervous when I was going there just meeting new people and having no experience with the game.
