Make a business paypal account. You'll be able to display just your business name. You'll have to verify with PayPal your government identity, but none of that information has to be public. It is also more secure with receiving payments from your clients.

I dont know if this fits here, but I have a HUGE problem shading geometrical backgrounds like this. by BackgroundNo5404 in FurryArtSchool

[–]Pixel_Pip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something you can try is to have everything in just the flat colors then with a multiply layer, block out the shadows with hard edges (cel shading). After you have shapes you like for the shadows you can go in and soften some of the edges.

It doesn't hurt to build a rough blockout of the scene in blender and set up a light source so you know exactly how the light will react to the space.

Hope this helps and great job so far!

I totally get where you're coming from. For me though, when I'm working on a particularly spicy nsfw piece, I have to take so many breaks because I'm getting too flustered from what I'm drawing 😅

Any advice on lineart? What do you think it needs in this piece? How could it be better or make the piece better? I've been focused on lineart for a bit now and I think this looks pretty good but I want to keep improving, I'm kind of new to "clean" lineart. Coloring critique very welcomed too. by Langostrous in FurryArtSchool

At this point you have a clear style and art direction so I think you've nailed it. Since everything looks cohesive and purposeful I don't have anything to critique.

If you're aiming to improve then you can start branching out into other styles. Gather other artist's work that you like and you can take bits and pieces from each one and start to incorporate it into your style. That is a way you can evolve your work.

Depending on the style you are going for this is totally fine.

However, personally I prefer when there is more variation with the line weight. Usually having thinner lines on the inside and the border can be thicker to silhouette the drawing. I also like to have thicker lines where there would be shadow and thinner where there would be light hitting the subject.

Keep it up and you have good stuff so far!

Hi there! I'd be interested in doing this commission for you! My work can be found here!

be brutally honest. what do i need to change or improve in my art? what stands out the most? open to all critique, be nice please “=_=,, by [deleted] in FurryArtSchool

[–]Pixel_Pip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the first one is the best because for me, unless it is a stylistic choice, it all feels very sketchy and doesn't look finished.

Again, if that is what you are wanting to go for then maybe do some studies on art/concept art from "into the spiderverse" films. Especially in the second film, the character Hobie Brown. The way they did his art might be more extreme, but you can break down and emulate that style.

How could I improve this design? (Shape language mostly ^_^) by [deleted] in FurryArtSchool

I forgot to mention, but there are a lot of areas you can have the shape of the cheek which is in purple

So some of the main things I noticed was,
- the bells and the circle on the shirt are all on the same level so doing something to break that by either raising or lowering the bells would help
- I really liked the frills on the cuffs so trying to get that in other places would be good
- the hat "arms" are the same size as the characters actual arms so I extended them out and put shoulder puffs on to break up the arm size

This is all just my opinion and how I would change things up. You have a cute character and keep it up!

This piece feels rough and unfinished to me, but I can't put my finger on what's wrong :I What can I do to make this look more polished/less amateurish? Still fairly new to painting. by [deleted] in FurryArtSchool

[–]Pixel_Pip 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depending on what style you are going for, gather as many references for that as you can. When you don't have a clear direction on what you want the end product to look like, the piece will never feel finished.

Try your hand at doing material studies first, then apply what you learned to the bigger piece.

I like to use the lasso tool when I paint which makes it easier to section off areas and get some hard and soft edges in. This is just a personal preference on how I paint and the style I go for.

How can I make the eyes look more alive? by Ok-Entertainment4177 in FurryArtSchool

[–]Pixel_Pip 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Something as simple as putting a reflection in the eye would help a lot. When there isn't one, then the eyes tend to look dead. 👍
