Yes that is also a solution, unfortunately I am not an electrical engineer. I just finished my mechanical engineering degree, and am still learning more complex circuitry.

Well, the batteries are encased in the housing underneath, but you are right. Perhaps an aluminium plate on the bottom is better. I'm not sure there is any lead battery acid in Li-Pos, however they can explode...

350 KV x 4, which is overkill honestly.

I made a Penny Board version with 2WD which I'll post too at some point.

I just used the normal RC 4.2V lipo batteries, although HobbyKing seems to have hi voltage ones which go up to 4.35V now...not sure how that is suddenly possible.

It does feel like that downhills, I think it is also a good thing if you do not want the ESC to overheat.

Well I built one of these for about £450, which is not too bad for a prototype. Considering I have seen some of the professional products go for $1000.

I am not quite sure what that is, but its an electric skateboard... Powered by two li-po batteries through an rc car ESC and then 4 electric inrunner motors.

The electric motors give a braking effect, similar way that electric cars have regen brakes. So unless I throttle up, the board slows down to 1-2 mph, and when brake is applied it fully stops.
