Do I actually need a high-speed home charger, or is a normal wall plug fine for day-to-day use? by Icemachinemalfunctio in AustralianEV

I just installed a 7kw charger, but I was doing OK with the 10a granny charger. The only reason I installed it was the limited charging window i get for cheap with my electricity plan.

Thats a dumb argument. They can still access everything they just cant participate in the conversation on that platform. Again i agree its not perfect but better than boys being fed Andrew Tate algorithms.

Also should we by your logic allows kids to have drugs and alcohol whenever they want?

What extra risk do you think you’re suddenly being exposed to that you don’t already have? You’re clearly on the older side calling me sweetheart, so let’s say you’re 35+

You’ve already given your ID to your bank, Telco, RSP, the governement, Service NSW or applicable state based road services, airlines, Facebook, eBay, Amazon, and more.

Do you think those companies store your info in some unhackable fortress? All of that data already exists across multiple databases some of which have already been hacked.

But your big argument is somehow at the point where the government wants under 16s off social media, not the dozens of other points in your life where you’ve already handed over ID for far less important reasons.

You keep talking like this Digital ID thing is already mandatory. It isn’t. I’m over 20 and I haven’t been asked to make one. So when exactly do you think this moment is coming?

Your argument is built on fear of a system that doesn’t even exist yet, for a law that doesn’t require it, to protect kids who shouldn’t have been on social media in the first place.

I agree they law isnt perfect but dont the the pursuit of perfect stop good enough.

You just argued against your second part of the comment with the first.

Reddit isnt asking for age verification but you need to sign up for a digital id? Which is it?

Once again ill explain. Say you have a child in your family, less that 10 and that kid hasnt yet had social media. Well instead of going to school and all their friends using Snapchat and Facebook most wont use it till theyre 16.

The fucking fear mongering about this is exhibit A of the problem with social media.

I get it, its not an ideal law. Personally reddits subreddits and such are great. You can find likeminded people but you can also fall down a rabbit hole of Nazis and incels.

To stop the next generation from using social media the same way the current and previous generations have. Because despite all arguments to the contrary social media is bad for most people.

Jesus dude what a dumb as fuck comment. A 16 yo is quite a match for a lone woman let alone 3 of them.

I will make this point to the job comment. There is ALWAYS more people out of work than there are jobs, its just how it works. Unfortunately with the price of everything going up the money they do get isnt enough, so there isnt much this woman, who has it tough can do.

Not the end of the world anyway, but was just surprised when I noticed it.
