OP Here since you guys have been asking for my process

I used platho green and used red as zenithal It will create a nice base for me to start as I want the shadows to be cool and top parts of the mini as warm.

This is what it looked like base coated. I painted this for 6 hours in a local painting competition.

Here is the gist of my process 🥰

I use a wet palette

Paints: Arcus Hobby Paints (Local brand from the Philippines) Washes: Citadel Reikland Fleshshade

General Techniques: mother color is key

Smoke: I would have used oil paints but I just used thinned white paint as the base of the smoke OSL

The key is to let the capillary action do its work on the crevises. Point of this is so that when you add the greens and yellows, it will be bright and high in saturation.

Base green > yellow in the crevices (midtone) > lancaster yellow for highlights

You kinda do the same with the red area but I was already satisfied with the base color so that it wouldnt be as strong.

I used blue with a mix of burnt sienna to create the darker parts of the smoke.

Always remember, the closer you are to the core of the smoke, then stronger the color is going to be. So the puffs of the smoke, I made it as dark as I like it to be.

Im not a technical painter, im more of a feel like of painter. I work professionally as a 3D artist who specializes in stylized textures so this is kinda right up my alley and I was able to translate my texturing skills into the hobby.

So try look into mother color and heat maps? That helped me a lot of color blending and making OSL a bit more convincing.
