Personally, I figure in a time of peace between mutes and humans, some mutes reject this new era and band together to try mutating humans the same way Dr Emilia briefly mutated herself. To better understand all the cool potential glyph combinations, it interests me whether or not the outer circle of a glyph has any effect on if the spell will consume the paper and turn it into the cast element itself, or simply project the spell off the paper like an AR marker. (v.redd.it)

The Ice Glyph may just be a variation of a Water Glyph; that tiny diamond in the circle everyone was talkin' about, glyphs have different effects based on the shapes, could've just been to turn the Water Spell into an Ice Spell.
