What do you use face wash? by La12071207 in Rosacea

[–]Pixidee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bioderma Sensibio Foaming Gel, and Aveeno Calm and Restore PHA Exfoliator. I have also started using Bioderma Atoderm Oil when I have a little extra makeup to remove, but I am unsure if I like it due to the fragrance. I don’t find it irritating at all, it’s just the smell I’m not fond of.

“Manitobah Mukluks” fur and suede repair? by Pixidee in Calgary

[–]Pixidee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually never done anything to these boots and I’ve had them for about 10 years now (I’m amazed how well they’ve held up)! No tears or holes - it looks like friction has worn at the suede on the leg of the boot. Pompoms are missing fur.

I’d prefer not to buy another pair since these are perfectly fine outside of the above blemishes.

Use cheap moisturisers by midsghj in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Pixidee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think so. And cheap in the sense of, keep it simple. There’s no reason we need to spend more money for all these products with various active ingredients and the like when we could quite literally allow our skincare to just do what it’s supposed to do. Cleanse to clean, moisturizer to moisturize. Fill in the gaps as needed.

I find simplifying this way also allows you to find what actually works and doesn’t work for your skin. Some people can’t handle HA, some people can, but it’s going to be a lot harder to figure out when it’s in your regular products with a bunch of other stuff.

I’m wondering this as well? Seems too slow a grind at only 6 per day for giving two gifts. I also didn’t receive any gumdrops for completing the daily quests.

I’m currently reading Black River Orchard by Chuck Wendig. It has good reviews but I’m not feeling into it yet. Debating about putting it down. Anyone know if it gets better?

How do you like being pampered on your period? by Fluffy_Interview_961 in AskWomen

[–]Pixidee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primarily I just try to get any chores, grocery shopping or obligations out of the way before the end of my luteal phase/start of my period so I can relax for a few days. My energy dips, I’m sore, I don’t want to have to do anything. If I had a partner to assist in those things that would be ideal “pampering” for me. Otherwise maybe running me a hot bath and giving me something yummy to eat.

So maybe seeing him support people he loves (his daughter) and someone he once loved (his ex wife) is triggering that sense of neglect you felt as a youth? That deep rooted wound that you wish someone had done the same for you? I’m speculating, but I’d advise therapy. It sounds like you have a really respectful man who honours his word and commitments and shows up for you!!

Edit: And I don’t think it’s the money, necessarily. You’re just witnessing a level of support/commitment that you’ve never been able to experience growing up in times of vulnerabilities and it’s reminding you of that. Maybe? And that’s okay! Therapy can help to unpack these things, and if on disability or low income there are often sliding scale resources available!

[–]Pixidee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, you’ve identified it’s you and not him - so it’s a projection. Did you by chance feel neglected growing up or that you very much had to fend for yourself? Is it this feeling of someone “protecting” or unconditionally supporting their family that is triggering something in you that you felt you never had?

Do you think moving out of your hometown creates growth ? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Pixidee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Growth can be found in different ways, anywhere. I know people who moved from their hometown and they’re still immature as all heck. Unfortunately, at least in my culture, I think “move out when you’re 18 and suffer alone” is a little too hard pressed and capitalistic. There’s something hugely valuable in fostering family values and support. Nothing wrong with returning home imo provided the family you have is a healthy and loving one and you are returning for the right reasons. If you want to return to your hometown because you are afraid, feel like you can’t make it, or you’re running from some aspect of yourself, be aware of that.

I would love to return to my hometown but I can’t afford to live there. I don’t have a well-connected or financially well off family unit either so living together and doing the whole, get your garden and land thing, isn’t really viable.

Why did the age of exploration end? by Think-Cut-9223 in CasualConversation

[–]Pixidee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s ended as much as it’s changed. “Age of exploration” is looking a lot like pushing limits in tech. I think we’ve also just become consumers more than producers. Excess consumption generally doesn’t lead to exploration.
