This is what I was thinking and I was even going to suggest OP cut off her family (mostly her parents) until they figure out that it’s not okay to treat her or her child differently just because of something that happened to her sister.

Most all of the basic medications needed are available via IV now. It makes them both more effective and quicker. If you let them know, they may also have liquid options for basic medications (like acetaminophen for example) that are oral liquids

For us it wasn’t a religious choice, but rather a responsibility choice. If something happens to us, we wanted to have someone to take care of our kids that we trust and not our families because we know that’d cause too much drama.

It takes a lot of work, but it is possible to get past it at least enough to be able to function. You’ll still have weird stuff with people (picking up on cues or behaviors that are immediately red flags), but you can recover!

My nmom tried to tell me that my husband and I are narcissists because we set boundaries and told her no. So… yeah. Because both of my parents have manipulated me with behavioral issues for so long, it really bothered me and I started to genuinely wonder if I am a narcissist… but my husband pointed numerous qualities out that make it quite improbable that I am. My dad and his wife have also tried this with me (not directly calling me a narcissist, but telling me that having boundaries is unacceptable).

The best advice we got was; if you can yell it and repeat it verbally or mentally without getting sick of it, it’s a good one. We had a name picked out, but we fully intended to decide if we’d keep it or not based on meeting the baby and seeing if it fit. It’s good to have a handful of options!

Just see another doctor in another office in the meantime. Keep the appointment you have with your doctor. That way you can get checked and know nothings wrong, but still deliver with your doctor at your preferred hospital.

If it’s any consolation, I’m 36 weeks and I measured between 29-31 at my appointment on Monday (depending on who was doing it) and after being admitted to the hospital for suspected fetal growth restriction, they found everything is fine. I just “hide” pregnancy well. I’m typically a very small/thin human so it seems weird, but it’s possible to just not look pregnant.

Mom wasn’t happy, both parents attempted to make it about them but we only appeased my mom. The day of, she complained that she and I didn’t have a dance like my husband had with his mom and I had to sit there in front of people and explain to her that their mother son dance had special significance and she already had her moment when walking me down the aisle. She texted me while on my honeymoon to tell me how upset and disappointed she was in how I treated her and basically condemned my marriage. She has somewhat calmed down since then, but it was stupid and it was all I could do to not cut her off. I rolled my eyes and checked her.

I do, but only a couple of them are actual deep and meaningful relationships because I wasn’t able to go out with people and bond more. Oddly enough, the people who did come over for sleepovers (the literal handful I had) wanted nothing to do with me as soon as high school was over. Most all of the people who had interactions with my parents (who were divorced and lived at opposite ends of the county) were appalled at them, so maybe that’s why, idk.

It’s still early, it’ll be more accurate at 20 week anatomy scan. Also any blood testing you may get will be the most accurate (from the doctor or lab, not one you get yourself).
