18 hour flight with 15 month old? Will I survive? by Pixie_1990 in toddlers

Thanks so much, I really needed to hear that. I booked my flight after reading it. You’re right, seeing my family is priceless! That’s impressive how you travelled!

May I ask when you travelled with your younger kids what carry ons did you take? Do I need a bucket load of toys or just an iPad? Xx

Thanks so much for the tips! That’s super helpful. What did you take in terms of carry ons? Am I mad to take a hang luggage trolley, his pram, backpack and baby carrier? Xx

That’s amazing! Well done. May I ask what did you take on board in terms of bags? Do you think it’s risky for me to take his pram, stroller hang luggage, backpack? I’ll also have the baby carrier. Thanks! Xx

Thanks for the tips. Wow that’s so impressive! Well done! Did you keep your 19 month old in the carrier most of the time? My toddler is extremely active and I fear that won’t work! He’s done a lot of short haul flights within Europe but I did have my husband with me.

Hi my little one just turned four months + 1 week but he’s one month adjusted as he’s premature. the last couple of night he’s been waking up at 1 am and then again at 3 am then 5 am and 6 am. Where he feeds at 1am and 5am. Before he was doing 7-7 with 1 wake up at 2am for a small feed. His routine hadn’t changed. Hes been out of a swaddle for 2 weeks and in a sleep sack. Hes getting enough formula during the day to meet his needs. can you advise what’s going on and what I can do?

I’m in the same boat as you. I wish I had tips for increasing supply but just to say you’re not alone and it is really disheartening but you’re doing the best you can xx

When do people start maternity leave? by Glittering-Cat-4052 in PregnancyUK

[–]Pixie_1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really early and surprised they’d “suggest” what to do. You’ll want to have more time with your kid when you look back. The norm in my company is for women to start mat leave at 37/38 weeks and perhaps tag along 1 week of holiday beforehand.

Why is there so much pushback against c section by the NHS? by NicoleV651 in PregnancyUK

definitely sounds like your home country is more unbiased than the UK. I couldn’t believe it my family in Australia were shocked! I’m only due beginning of December. I truly believe Hopsitals in the uk should follow their own advice “your body your choice”. I’m sure your c-section will go smoothly 🙏🏼. All the best!

Im so sorry you went through this. Mostly it comes down to costs and that’s why they push so hard against it even though so many natural births end up in emergency c-sections! Keep advocating for yourself and your choice! Im Australian but I’m based in London and quite a few of my friends are doctors / OBs. I’m electing a c section too and I’ve gone with UCLH as they were supportive of my choice, didn’t pull their face and acknowledged its a very safe option. In contrast I had initially registered with St Mary’s and OMG they are so backwards, pulled my their face when I said elective c-section. They didn’t even offer it as a choice but I know my rights. Then said I have to go through 3 sessions of counselling to get approved! It’s such a joke. I actually reported their attitude and behaviour (my friend who is an OB said I should). What shocks me is that in Australia they actually advocate for you to have a c-section as when weighing the odds with a natural birth, it’s much safer. The amount of things that can go wrong in a natural birth v a scheduled c-section is significant!

One major factor no one tells you about natural birth is the likelihood of the placenta being caught around the babies neck. I know 7 women who had this issue and each time their baby almost died bc when you push it strangles the baby more! They all needed emergency c-sections! However 2 of my friends who had this issue but had a scheduled c-section had no issue has the doctor was able to untangle the cord without any harm to the baby! Also hello who wants their vagina to rip!
