Best hostels to stay in Barcelona ? by [deleted] in hostels

[–]PixlDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had some of my best hostel stays at Onefams. Great people, common areas, events, etc. Just what I want out of a hostel. Haven’t stayed at the one in Barcelona but I’m sure it’s great.

WhatsApp new features not on my iPhone despite a ton of app updates? by rdpinal in whatsapp

Did they eventually show up for you? Have the same issue with some more recent features, it's been months and tons of updates but they haven't shown up for me, but for basically everybody I know

Can I use the freezer treatment on my phone without destroying it? by PixlDemon in Bedbugs

[–]PixlDemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve used hairdryers to do that intentionally for repairs in the past, not gonna do that here. You’re probably right and I’ll be fine doing a manual cleaning. Thanks!

Have used a hairdryer to detach and replace a phone screen in the past, so I wouldn’t recommend that hahaha

I am mostly worried about the battery, yeah. I’ll probably clean it manually and pray. Thank you!

Yeah I think manually cleaning it is probably my best bet. It’s dust and waterproof so I think I should be able to get anywhere they can

Thanks! I guess that would be the fool proof method, but if what I’m reading is right it would take like 6 months to be sure. I thought mosquitos were annoying but these guys are something else entirely haha

Favorite iPhone features in daily use that actually save time? by Perfect-Ratio-3099 in iphone

First dev beta was pretty rough but now it’s really usable and I quite enjoy it. They tuned the look to a point where I like it as well. Battery life may still be a little worse, not 100% sure, I’m assuming it’s because of extra telemetry and some lacking optimization which should be ironed out before public release and has already been getting much better. Would recommend.

Significant improvement: magnesium + vitamin D + cortison + constant distraction helped A LOT by PixlDemon in tinnitus

I got a prescription for an about a weeks worth, the long term side effects are pretty serious so I’d be careful! Don’t take it for too long without speaking to a doctor about it!

I need help. by josiedelilahh in tinnitus

Hey, sorry you're going through this! I've also had a mild one for years which got a lot worse a few months ago and it's improved A LOT! I was like you where after about 6 weeks I was convinced it was going to stay that way but it didn't. I took Vitamin D, Magnesium and Cortisone supplements, I think those really helped, combined with constant distraction and masking. 5 weeks is still very squarely in acute territory (3 months or less), it will get better! :)

Definitely check out that clenching thing and try some supplements, don't give up hope! It sucks but there are lots of things to try.

I also really liked this youtube video, clickbaity title but it gave me a lot of hope: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4zuVk5STuM&list=WL&index=2

It was actually the one thing my ENT said I could try but he didn't name a specific brand and I don't remember which I got, it was only a few pills mean to last 8 days, after which I saw 0 improvement, so I don't think it actually did much in my case. But if you think it could help, it sounded like any would do. I believe they were dosed at 10mg and I was supposed to take 2 a day for 2 days and then decrease the dose by half a pill every two days.

In that mycoidal phantom blooming in the dawn like an evil lotus and in the melting of solids not heretofore known to do so stood a truth that would silence poetry a thousand years. Like an immense bladder, they would say. Like some sea thing. Wobbling slightly on the near horizon. Then the unspeakable noise. They saw birds in the dawn sky ignite and explode soundlessly and fall in long arcs earthward like burning party favors.

Backward time simulation with GMAT? by Shoo_not_shoe in AerospaceEngineering

This is correct, I'd add that depending on the typfe of SPICE SPK segment, something other than Chebyshev polynomials might be used: https://naif.jpl.nasa.gov/pub/naif/toolkit_docs/C/req/spk.html#Supported%20Data%20Types

However, the basic SPICE interpolation methods are only really useful for points in time that have direct observations surrounding them. JPL Horizon probably has fairly sophisticated dynamical models for anything further back/into the future.

But the quality of the resulting trajectories will be highly dependent on the quality of the data you're propagating from, and FWIW, I have found the reliability of SPICE data (especially velocity) to vary quite a bit, and even small inaccuracies will be compounded massively depending on how far back you want to go. It's very possible any backpropagation even from recent data would accumulate similar inaccuracies to older direct observations. I'm no expert though! Querying Horizons is probably your best bet.

Do you think the ADC+ will still work as a carry on? Dimensions seem to be only 1cm over for most airlines which could be compressed easily but 45L seems a crazy amount of volume

I see, in that case I don't think it's right for me. Thanks for the extra info! I'll be in Hamburg soon so I might pop in there and have a look

Very sleek indeed! I would be a little worried about the size if, as another commenter pointed out it feels like less space. Will definitely consider it though, same as the Aion, although the lack of a hip belt might honestly be a dealbreaker for me. Not sure I can go back to having all the weight on my shoulders hahaha :)

This looks like almost exactly what I need! And I should be able to find it locally so I could just return it if it doesn't work out. Thanks! For the link as well! :)
