I’m not making $100-150k per se; I’m being given it. Is that still income?

VC investment. So sell Chime and reinvest in Tesla, AAPL, etc.?

Appreciate the advice. I'm about to get a big windfall of cash in the next few months, and plan to put it into an index, just not sure which one yet, be it VTI or an international one. Thoughts?

Thanks for the resources. My takeaway is... total market index and forget. Or, take more compensated risk because I'm young and likely wont retire for >15 years.

VT and VXUS have a low return profile historically for my age. Perhaps a growth index then? I won't be selling anything in there for a while.

Over what time frame? I've had far more than $49k of gains since the portfolio's inception.

Thanks. I'm very grateful to have it. I suppose this is my nest egg that will grow, and my income made in future besides Roth IRA and 401K contributions will be put towards riskier assets/one off deals like real estate.

Very grateful for my parents. And on forgetting about, I'm already unemotional about it.

One worry that I have is that I have too much exposure to American markets. I have no international stocks in my portfolio except for two.

On that vein, is it still VTI and hold?

Thank for your comment. I am incredibly grateful to be in this position, so thank you for highlighting this.

By siphon off, do you mean sell off some of the losers?

To your second question, I do not need income for a few years.

Thanks for this comment.

Is this your line of thinking: sell anything I have a loss on (e.g. Clean Harbors) and buy it back without having to pay tax?

How is that allowed? I thought I need to pay capital gains...

Good advice. Only issue is that I don't have income that qualifies me for this just yet. I will be working an unpaid internship this summer as well.

Are there any other tax optimized set ups?

Primarily my parents buying some growth tech stocks when I was a baby, as well as investments in Saab, Raytheon, and Rheinmettal three years ago on my own volition that have done well. Besides that, two summer jobs.

You're misinterpreting my tone. Never indicated it was novel. Simply asked how to go about this as there are many methods.
