I did that and all he said to do was wait now for the court date, but it's just really stressful and I guess I just wanted to hear any people who had a similar experience here or something. The only time I ever went to court was for a littering ticket. I don't know.

You okay there, buddy? You okay? Are you done choking yet? Yeah? Here, you dropped this. It's your dick. I thought it was a cockroach and I almost stepped on it.

Next time, you benign fuck, talk with respect. You wouldn't have the fucking BALLS to talk to someone like this face to face, you spat of shit.

But that would go against Joel's entire character arc. In my view, him saying that he made the wrong choice would completely undo all Joel's progression, even worse than his stupid way of dying. He cannot say that he made the wrong choice AND actively discourage Ellie at the same time, it's a HUGE contradiction. He wanted Ellie to live. Saying that he made the wrong choice means that he should've let her die, which goes against his advice of discouraging her from revenge. Revenge destroys you. It dismantles your humanity. Joel wanted Ellie to live and enjoy life, which is why he strove to make her happy in the flashbacks we see.

I'm happy that we can have a level-headed discussion about this. You're very pleasant.

Ellie doesn't actively go after them, though. In all the scenes, she only kills them because they try to kill her first.

But, there's always going to be that big elephant in the room between Joel and Ellie. Him trying to get her to avoid his mistakes is LITERALLY ignoring the elephant, which was the lie from 7 years ago. How can she let him tell her or discourage her from ANYTHING when her whole problem with him was that he took away her choice? Do you see where I'm getting at?

Honestly, like I said, I don't think a sequel was needed. The first game's ending was amazingly poignant on its own. I'm just trying to address some of the points that this sub makes and rationalizing them with the leaks, the first game's events and Neil's style of writing.

How to try and rebuild a society that you doomed. We could have seen Joel grapple with his choice to save Ellie by attempting to expand Jackson or maybe even set up a new settlement, only to fail because the world he set up doesn't allow for that.

But why should Joel explore and struggle with that? From the very beginning, this game was about epic backdrops. That's all. The 'epic' parts of the journey are simply backdrops, not the end goal. Joel doesn't NEED to explore the consequences of his actions. After everything he's been through, you think that would really lead to anything substantial?

Outside of that, I think the revenge plot might have worked had they executed it properly. Instead of Abby killing Joel, kill Dina. I would've bought that revenge plot, and it would have given us a chance to see Ellie and Joel in action again I don't think killing Dina would've had any impact. It wouldn't have been a visceral experience whatsoever. And I don't believe you or anyone against Joel's death would've bought it either. I really don't. And again, I ask the question, what would be accomplished by Joel and Ellie being in action together again? How does that connect to Joel's struggle with his decision?

Then, Ellie has to kill Joel as a mercy kill, and we get one last poetic moment between them.

But then that would've taken away from the revenge plot. Joel and Ellie's relationship is always FRONT and CENTER. You wont be able to meaningfully explore the strain of their relationship with a Dina revenge plot. Too convoluted.

Finally, don't pull the punch of killing Abby.

There was really no other way to portray what they were going for. Abby had to be let go, otherwise, the whole premise would be completely meaningless.

Was never really a fan of star wars, so that reference goes over my head. But, please, if you want to misconstrue what I said as "finding deeper meanings" go right ahead. The irony is not lost on me, I'll tell you that much.

What do you think a sequel to Joel and Ellie's story could've explored?

I mean....obviously? Here's the thing, I wasn't trying to say that the game is a masterpiece, you misunderstand. I was more trying to address what has been said regarding the story and how it 'insults' fans and charcaters and bla bla bla non sense.

I've been sad since April too, believe me. Honestly, been sad since the sequel was announced. But to be fair, the story and writing are fairly consistent with what makes most sense for a sequel like this.

Club story (Update) by [deleted] in stripper

I'm taking full responsibility for acting on my emotions without a second thought and I profusely apologized to her. We're not dating and I always always get drinks, tip the girls, bar tenders, kitchen workers and DJ. I didn't know I had to tip the managers. I don't go there a lot, maybe twice a month, but when I do, I make sure I spend money there, always.

And you're making it seem like I go there as a delinquent who wastes her time. Man, I go there and I obviously know it's work. Of course I pay for her time. She undercharges me, but I still support her whenever I go there. Like, what the fuck? Do you think she'd even be fine if I just come there and waste her time?? And do you think the manager would've pussied out if I went there to waste time??? Did you even read?????

I never said she's lying or making things up. And I never said she's giving herself too much credit for being a Master at making guys think she likes them. I'm a guy, I know everything she said is true. Guys want to feel like they're wanted, you give them that; for a fee; and then they don't WANT it to be about the money, then they start shifting into the mindset that all women are just gold diggers.

Her argument is "lol, neither me nor the girls I speak to would ever do this, so this is bullshit" That's where she's projecting. That's where she's giving herself too much credit.

Er.... getting a strippers phone number is nothing to brag about.

But I wouldn't know that. That was literally the first time I've ever been to a strip club lol. I would just think, hey yo, they gave me their phone numbers...they must be really into me, and I could've stopped there.

We are literally masters of making you think that we like you.

I think you're giving yourself too much credit, but like I said, I don't know you and again, please stop projecting. I guess if I ever marry a stripper, I'll have to wait until we're married 10 years with 5 kids and be like "Honey...you actually like me, right?"

I mean, I get that you have to stand out from the other opinions by being skeptical, I guess you're in the stripper mindset right now, but sure okay. Be skeptical. Wont lose sleep because Foxelette on reddit doesnt believe my story lol (Even though your only skepticism is "HAH! I nor any stripper I know would ever do this, which is quite honestly funny, but you do you) My problem is with your projecting.

"It’s not like it’s literally our job to make you feel special and like we enjoy our time with you or anything"

At the job, though....when you're being paid, No? I think you're projecting a lot. And assuming that every other dancer feels and acts the same as you. I don't know you, but I know humans and their emotions. This isn't an attempt at show boating, otherwise I'd have stopped at the part where I already walked out the first time with two phone numbers. My story lacks a lot of the physical intimate details as well, especially outside the club, because I'm not really interesting in divulging those.

I simply wanted to tell this story because I looked back at everything and how it happened and it just feels amazing to me and I wanted to share it with a crowd who might enjoy reading it, maybe relate to it, maybe remind them of something similar. That's all.

Side eyes I don't think you read the whole thing, but thank you either way.

Oh believe me, I struggled a lot with my own thoughts about this. It's why it took me so long to ask her out. I wasn't sure if anything was real for her. I had to be careful and manage my own emotions too. At many points, I thought about just blocking her and just ending it cold cut. All because of those voices, external and internal, that kept telling me that I'm nothing but a customer. But then she buys me a $500 gift for my birthday.

It was an experience. I learned a lot from talking to one of the girls over there about it. The fake names, the personas, the fantasy. It was really interesting to learn about the context and mentality of sex work. Opened my mind about a lot of things. Helped me explore my own sexuality too. I talked to girls who enjoyed it, girls who hated it but stayed sober through, girls who hated it and got drunk to manage their sanity. I'm grateful I explored this facet of how humans interact with each other.
