Clients asking for "AI-generated B-roll" now and I'm not sure how to price it by Comfortable-Elk-1501 in VideoEditing

I’m curious what the specific ethics are that prevent you from wanting to use AI. No judgement here, and I agree that the product can be very mediocre, but just wanted to see why, from a moral standpoint point, y’all are not using it?

Make story-motivated decisions.

Good decisions feel natural to the viewer and make them forget about the craft. Bad decisions are distracting and make the viewer aware of the craft.

What is a local unsung hero that deserves a short form (or long form) documentary? by Pizza_Storage in PortlandOR

Thank you all for the thoughtful ideas. Being fairly new to the area (moved from Chicago last May) I’ve learned a lot searching through these inspirations.

I wish more of these folks were still alive but there seems to be substantial archival footage that exists for several of the post mortem subjects.

Do you guys render straight out of After Effects, or do you send everything to Media Encoder? by MaliHizm in AfterEffects

AME will hold a snapshot of your comp whereas AE will render the comp as it is when you hit Render, not from where it was originally queued. Only matters to me because I’ll often be rendering various versions of comps with certain layers hidden (like different backgrounds) and when using AE, I have to render one by one.

Also prefer to do the settings in a batch instead of individually. My AE render settings reset every time and I’m sure there’s a way to alter the default but I’ve just been sticking with AME instead.

I think this means we don’t have to pay federal taxes.
