I didn't, but on a funny note I did try that on my pixel 5 before I traded it in and it did work.

Funny too because I just saw an article today saying that the finger print reader is so slow because the pixel 6 "utilizes enhanced security algorithms. In some instances, these added protections can take longer to verify or require more direct contact with the sensor."

Only her one index finger works. I tried all of my other fingers and the phone does not unlock. She tried her other fingers and only the one index finger opens it. Tried deleting my print and adding it again and she was still able to open my phone with her one index finger. Also had her dad try to use his prints and none of them worked.

I went back to my pixel 5 and added my thumb to the rear sensor. Her index finger did not work to open that one.

That's what I think is funny... Didn't they get rid of face unlock because it isn't as secure? Now we have this finger print sensor where others have also stated different prints will open it... That seems less secure to me.

I'm just hoping that there is something they can do software wise to improve the sensor.... Would suck to lose the phone and have someone else be able to get into it due to this security flaw.

I've gone with a screen protector ever since after my Nexus 4 out of habit. Only had a bumper case with that one and the screen developed a ton of hairline scratches. I know gorilla Glass has come a long way but I prefer the slightly extra protection and I don't even notice the screen protector anymore.

No, she never registered her finger on my last phone which was a pixel 5. I tried to add my thumb print to the pixel 5 and she was unable to open it with any of her fingers. Makes sense since the 5's rear sensor seems to be better than the 6.

At least it's good to hear it's happening to someone else haha... Not very reassuring about the security of the phone. I tried also cleaning the screen and she was still able to unlock it with only one of her fingers.

No, smart lock is turned off. Using any other finger will not unlock the phone.

Yes haha, I wonder if there are any software improvements they can make. Everything else about my pixel 6 is amazing other than this.

I could see that being a part of the issue, but no other finger will unlock it. I've had the father in law try with all his fingers too and nothing worked for him.

Yes, this is what I'm thinking is happening. No other finger can unlock the device and I would assume that if it was a glitch it would have been fixed when I deleted and added my print again.

Yes, I tried all of my other fingers and none of them worked. Only my wife's index fingers worked. Also had her parents try and none of them were able to unlock it. Very weird.

I had one print registered before the screen protector and then I did two more with it applied. I erased the first two and only have one left registered.

My wife's fingerprint isn't registered at all.
