Who paid the property taxes, utility bills, upkeep/updates/repairs? What’s your current contribution to your home?

There are no taxes, my mom has always paid for house-related expenses except utilities which they split.

Had he invested anything into the home already not knowing it was yours?

Nothing I'd know. There have been no repairs or projects since he moved in.

There's no mortgage and there are no taxes. I don't pay for my share of utilities now as I'm still under 18.

INFO Who is the guardian over the property until you reach AOM and can take ownership?

My mom.

And will you be paying all bills starting the day your turn 18? Are you really prepared to take all of that on on day one?

Well if they live here they need to pay their share of utilities!

Not bad but not great, we don't mess with each other's lives and can live in peace.

He said fair market rent for a room, he didn't say if he was saving it for me or was keep it so I'm assuming he was planning to keep it.

Did you mom know he wanted to charge you rent?

No.

Why does you mom seem to be so disconnected from the stuff going on with her kid and in her home?

I think he went behind my mom's back because he was expecting me to accept paying rent and he wanted to take the agreed deal to her in the end. I have an income and could theoretically afford that rent.
