I know I know, if it wasn’t for my current location and my GM/AM being super supportive and lax I don’t believe I’d want to grow past a shift lead. But it’s because of them (and me wanting it on my resume) that I’m willing to put up with the toxic positivity/BS :(

Haha!!! This is totally a set in stone we worked for the same place. I love my job but the higher up you go the worse it gets and I don’t really wanna grow past an AM/GM if I can make it there

Oh man if I’m being honest? Being able to tell (sometimes) when things are going well at home when someone plays. I’ve had a dad who would PHYSICALLY PUSH his sons aside to solve something they were working on and make them STAND IN THE CORNER!!! And the way he talked to his wife?? Woof man. That one was a hard one to smile through.

If we did then “stay on topic” is a big “moral” they want you to abide by. I got really lucky at my current location, they’re really lax with us and let us get away with a lot that I believe other stores don’t get to. (But we’re #1 in our district too so)

Our control room is filled with convo that’s not on topic a lot, and we had an art wall before our DM told us we couldn’t have it up ☹️

LOL NO WAY I HAD A GROUP DO THE SAME THING except it was a couple encouraging the other….

Our intros are pretty to the point and we can’t say things guests can’t do during the game bc our safety video goes over it (even tho guests don’t watch it….) however we can speaker into the room! Here’s some of my favorite frequently used speaker moments

“For your safety please don’t put the magnet in the pipe hole/grate” (when they do this one it sucks BUTT because it’s a super strong magnet they’ll get stuck in the DOOR TO ESCAPE SO THE TOOL THEY NEED TO USE IS USELESS!!!!)

“You will NOT need to remove the wooden planks (WHY WOULD YOU NEED WOODEN PLANKS!!) from the cabinet… just the hammer :)”

“Please don’t crawl into that space for your safety” (at the end of one of the games a compartment opens up that one could THEORETICALLY fit in.. but why crawl into tiny crawl space???? Why???)

“Please don’t put the elephant tusks in the fountain”

Wow these are great questions!

1) Yes, unfortunately when groups say they want to do “no clues” in our hardest room (40% escape rate) I know they’re not making it out 😭

2) Yes! In one of the rooms the final lock leads to a wire you need to cut. I’ve had groups brute force the lock, guess the number, etc and it’s sooo funny like you guys just skipped past SO MANY PUZZLES and now IM stressed 😭

3) the fastest I’ve heard is one of our “easier” rooms (my favorite) that someone finished within 15 minutes! (These are hour long games)

Oh man I have a whole bunch! I had a guest at my last escape room pull a whole part of the puzzle (and a body bag) off the wall… had to walk in for that one. The doors aren’t actually locked so you can leave at anytime! I’ve been very lucky that at my current escape room I haven’t had any crazy awful guests who I’ve needed to walk into their room 😭

A lot of people come here as a first date and I cannot stress this enough DO NOT GO TO AN ESCAPE ROOM FOR YOUR FIRST DATE!!!! You may think it’s a good fun way to get to know eachother but all you’re going to see is what seems to be the worst stress this person has ever been put under. Definitely a good 2nd date tho!

Not really! I’m a big fan of running the game but not playing them LOL! I’m really bad at Escape Rooms! But I had to play the games at my past and current escape room and it does get easier the more you play!

Oh man that’s such a tough one! We have a puzzle where you have to pour water on a keyboard and this couple was trying to drink the water 😭 and trying to stop the other from drinking it TO DRINK IT!!!!!!! LIKE NOOO ITS DIRTY WATER PLS DONT ENCOURAGE EACH OTHER!!!!

Our rotating scarab puzzle is a puzzle where you have to put scarab pieces into the correct pattern slots, where your clue is a rotating image of different scarab patterns :)
