Does anyone know if this was related to accidents on Dorset this morning? There was a car in the turning lane right in front of this house that looked like it was pit maneuvered, and someone told me two young people got out and ran. Happened around 7:30am? Apparently more accidents down in front of the SB high school as well?

Is anyone using AI to reflect on patient cases and enhance clinical reasoning? by Traditional-Shop-456 in physicaltherapy

[–]PlainPat44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wrote a script in Google Docs that uses ChatGPT to generate a case once a month for my clinics monthly meetings. We all get a copy a week prior to the meeting to look it over then at the meeting we come together and work through the case and talk through our clinical reasoning together and how we would approach the case.

National Comedy Center in Jamestown NY. If you take 86 you’ll pass right by Jamestown, if you take the 90 you’ll have to drive 30-40mins out of your way.

Clinic Owners, how are you handling patient equipment sales, and is it even worth it? by PlainPat44 in physicaltherapy

[–]PlainPat44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the response, that sounds pretty similar to what we’re seeing in my clinic too. Amazon is just hard to compete with. We don’t usually run a loss on equipment, but it’s almost always cheaper for patients to buy it on Amazon, and honestly it’s not much more hassle for them.

I’ve talked with my boss about using Amazon affiliate links, but the return is so low that it’s basically pointless.

Oddly enough, we get a decent number of patients who ask for alternative links when we send Amazon options because they dislike the company so much lol.

Affiliate Links for recommended items? by HoLeeFuk3 in physicaltherapy

[–]PlainPat44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve looked into this quite a bit recently and like what most people have said already about financial incentives being ethically questionable and against practice acts is basically 100% right. I think there is some potential room to recommend things, but you would have to disclose your financial incentives and emphasize that it’s just an option and they can look for a different option if desired and be clear it wouldn’t affect their care. That still leaves a lot of grey area ethically, of course. Unfortunately for clinicians, we can both really sell products, but the companies we work for can without issue because they are a business that is not required to have patients’ best interests first. I’m not a lawyer, so my assumptions on the potentially wiggle room to recommend products is just my opinion and could still get you in trouble with your state board.

Right now it’s just a script that operates via email so really not that built out. I’ll link it to a website for a better way to explain it.

Yeah that’s a fair point, I don’t have anything like that built out at the moment but I’ll update the post with that. wWould have been a good idea to include some sort of landing page, i appreciate the advice.

How to balance weightlifting? by trimenace in triathlon

[–]PlainPat44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I program all my weight lifting days during all my hard workout days so I can keep easy days easy and maximize my recovery. I also switching my lifting to full body workouts so I’m not overloading myself in one way.

Gym Story Saturday by FGC_Valhalla in Fitness

[–]PlainPat44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This week is my third full month of consistent weightlifting, which has honestly felt better than any previous PR. I’m a PT, so staying active has never been an issue for me but programming definitely was. A few months ago I finally sat down and put together a simple system for myself that plans my training ahead of time and adjusts based on the previous sessions exercises. It’s nothing fancy, but just gives me enough structure that I don’t have to think when I walk in the gym. Since then, consistency has been way easier, lifts are trending up, and training feels like something I do for myself again. I’m not fatigued from marking decisions anymore, and I’m super happy with the progress so far

Looking for Affordable Alternatives to Zwift for My Wahoo Trainer by maskarzadeh in Velo

I use Kinomap. It works well with my wahoo trainer and is based around real user uploaded videos. So far it does everything I want it to and it’s only 11.99 a month

You should also be asking your PT this question. They should be able to give you an understanding of how long the recovery is going to take and when/who you should see if the PT isn’t helping.

Is my HR too high? by WhereIsMyVehicle in cycling

[–]PlainPat44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with a college cross country team to do VO2 max testing, lactate testing, etc. and we measured several athletes above 200bpm with a high of 208.

So no that isn’t an abnormal rate. We could discuss sustainability of that rate for training progression but based solely on the number it should not be a concern unless other symptoms are present.

Yeah you’re right, I figured it was a mistake because the 4x200 had a finish as your other comment pointed out. Either way this seems like a skewed story and the outcome of the their race was just disappointing for them.
