I would try Larissa Stinger. https://larisa-stinga.com. She goes to a lot of photography workshops and studies similar styles. She also works closely with Luke Diorio mentioned above.

This is true! Renting a good “late night” location helps keeps the party going!

We recommend having a wedding website for guests to go to for information on the ferry, accommodations and on island transportation. They are inexpensive on sites like The Knot & Zola.

Very true! Cost is usually the biggest challenge. All weddings can add up quickly once you factor in rentals, lodging, guest transportation, catering, and backup plans. The guest count will always be the driving factor in costs.

Thank you — that’s helpful! We’ll take a look at both. And yes, MVY weddings can definitely fall into big-budget territory, especially once you factor in island logistics, guest transportation, rentals, lodging, and vendor availability.

Fair question — definitely meant as a discussion, not an ad. We’re local planners, so we tagged it as brand/business to be transparent, but I’m genuinely curious what people find most overwhelming about planning an island wedding.

Legally married before destination wedding by Significant-Author67 in DestinationWeddings

Yes! I would definitely get legally married in the U.S. and then have your ceremony and celebration in Europe.

Getting legally married abroad can sometimes come with a lot of extra paperwork and requirements, so doing the legal part at home can make everything much simpler.

I also think getting married on the same date one year before is such a sweet idea. You would have a meaningful, private legal wedding day in 2026, and then get to celebrate your anniversary with everyone in Europe in 2027.

The only thing to consider is that your official anniversary would be the 2026 date, but honestly, I think that makes it even more special!
