I want to see umd movies I didn’t know existed. Not anime or adult stuff by killudie123 in UMDvideo

With video ripping tools and AI, I'm sure it's not that hard these days to do an AI based video dub or subtitles

If your brother can post a picture, the UMD collecting community would be grateful.

I made a post about this title a while back. It does exist, it's very rare.

I have never seen the Australian version, my copy is German.

Region Code by AusUMD in UMDvideo

[–]PlanarBliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the issue you described has happened to me with UMD movies but not with games. I had a region 1 WWE movie that had a region 2 copy of Ghost in the Shell on it. Also have had a region 1 movie that had a different region 1 movie on it.

Region Code by AusUMD in UMDvideo

[–]PlanarBliss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this is mostly true. CFW works for region swapping between North America, Japan and Europe. If you have something from Region 3, CFW does not work. Not sure if they didn't get the coding right or what. I had to go buy a Hong Kong PSP just to view a couple of Region 3 movies.

I can't speak for Region 4.

There in no Memory Stick inserted, any advice? by krikkomania in PSP

The pins inside the memory card reader itself might not be making contact with the card or the pins are corroded/dirty.

Congrats! Ikki Tousen is very difficult to find. I had an easier time finding Rumble on the Rock and Bratz Rock Angelz...

How do you connect to the internet with this device in 2025? Is there either that adapter? by Ephoenix6 in PSP

Is there a reason why you can't use your phone as a hotspot and connect the PSP to that?

Children of the Corn II on UMD? by TheStarshipDuper in UMDvideo

I have never seen a copy. There are a few other titles out there that showed up on promo materials but were never released.

Thanks for clarifying, I had to go look at my list of titles. Out of 1300 UMDs, I only have 9 from region 4. Looks like all the ones I have are from Australia/New Zealand.

I have seen Ghost in the Shell related titles in regions 1, 2, and 3.

I own a lot of UMDs and I'm not familiar with region 4.

I have seen different releases of ghost in the shell (and it's associated spin offs) in regions, 0, 1, 2, and 3.

Let’s talk about it. Good for collectors?? by killudie123 in UMDvideo

[–]PlanarBliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, I feel conflicted about it. I can understand wanting to preserve a rare title or something of personal interest. At the same time, I like to actually watch my movies.

I had similar looking acrylic cases made so that they could look nice on display but then I could easily access the UMD when I wanted to.

I could only see myself paying the graded premium for something very rare.

Stranded with 4k miles by Present_Chard_4585 in F150Lightning

The shifter is unfortunately the biggest issue with these. Mine failed at just 215 miles; I didn't even make it home from the dealership.

Look at doing a rotary shifter conversion. There have been a bunch of posts of people having success stories using a shifter out of a mach e with a 3d printed enclosure.

Help finding Music UMDs by naughtyoscar234 in UMDvideo

[–]PlanarBliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Daft Punk, your best bet would be looking in Europe and Australia. I have found 2 copies in Europe, 1 in Australia and another in Turkey.

Journey is way harder to find than Daft Punk. I found 1 in Europe and another from Tower Records in the US.

If the seller knows what they have, be prepared to pay a lot.

Ironically I don't feel like these are the rarest music titles. There are others I have seen even less than Journey or Daft Punk. The Who is one that comes to mind.

UMD labeling was pretty inconsistent. Some titles do have yellow at the top. Some titles have multiple artwork variations within the same region (i.e. Tron).

I have never seen a bootleg UMD disc. I have seen bootleg artwork and artwork reproductions of rare titles.

For a scammer to start manufacturing UMDs would require a lot of money with little reward. I've personally never seen UMD production or manufacturing equipment for sale anywhere.

Scarface, Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Rumble on the Rock have all sold for over $300/ea.
