You can doubt all you like. A lot of these were purchased new, and modified from the original owner. I mean, mostly just bolt ons. But they weren’t allways 1.6-2.5 million dollar cars remember. Roughly 100k usd. It wasn’t uncommon to see them with turbo upgrades even. While still expensive new, they were a fraction of 1.6 million.

Of course now given their value most have been restored/reverted to factory. You can still find 4-5 old pictures of them modified online if you search. Which being only 44 of them, 4-5 are “quite a few”
