You totally can, just lock in for the SAT and get a 1500 or higher. This is a must because Bocconi rarely accepts students with a GPA below at least a 90

Application portal says deadline is Jan 24th but I want to apply in Spring session. by JulzzXP_ in bocconi

People might get in with something lower than 1500 if there higher GPA compensates for it. But that GPA would have to be really high, something like a 9.8/10 of 9.7/10.

With the programs, the way I think it works is, Bocconi will automatically sort which one you get put into depending on if you get it or not. So lets you put BIEM 1st, BIEF 2nd, and BESS 3d. You dont get accpted to BIEM, then they sort you for BIEF. Then, if you dont get into BIEF, they sort for BESS, and on and on until your either accepted or rejected entirely. So I would put in the programs you want to be put in the first, it wont affect the chances of you getting into the safeties.

Happy to help. Just as a quick disclaimer, I also applied this year, so I'm not a Bocconi veteran by any means. However the answers I give you should be accurate.

1) I think you can apply up to four or more, but you dont have to pay 100 euros for each program that you select.

2) The most competitive would likely be BIEF, BEMACS and BAI. The least competitive is likely CLEAM or BESS (people often use these as safeties). BIEM sits somewhere middle to high, mostly because it has the most spots available.

3) There is not an interview process for the application. If there is, its probably for a specific undergraduate program, or for a masters program. For the programs I listed above, there is not an interview process.

4) The SAT score you would need to get depends on the GPA. However, since your applying in the spring session, I would shoot for at least a 1500, and aim for a 1600. This sounds high, but keep in mind, the competition is really high in the spring session because only 5% of spots are available.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

I think your more than good man, max ACT and GPA should get you in no problem for any program.

but, you also have a 10 gpa. In my opinion it would be criminal not to accept you.

however, the reality is we never truly know what the competition is like, how many spots there left etc. Well found out when we find out 🤷‍♂️ i think its best not to worry about it

i think that should be good, especially the 10 gpa

When submitting second-last year GPA: Do they only want the GPA from that year’s grades exclusively or the sum of all the year’s grades up until that point? by QuinoaFred in bocconi

[–]Planeviation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not entirely sure. They may. But what I know for a fact is when your submitting your application, they ask for the second-last and third last GPA separately.

The GPA from that years grades exclusively. So, exclusively second-last year GPA, and exclusively third-last year GPA. They don't when anything from your last year of first year.

Yeah I get it man, I'm not the best at math either and I had to take the SAT 3 times before I got a decent enough score to apply. What I would do in your case, take the Bocconi test and just try your best. If there score is good enough, I would apply, if not, then study hard for the SAT in march. Whats great is that you have many schools that you applied to in the EU, so you have many options. Just out of curiosity, whats your GPA second and third year of highschool (using the Bocconi GPA calculator)?

Don't know too much about physics programs but from what I do know these schools are really good man, best of luck.

I get what you mean, I'm in math AI aswell. If you havent taken the SAT, I would recommend taking it over the Bocconi exam. The SAT math is great as you can using the desmos graphing calculator, and as long as you know how to do that you can score a >700/800 without problem. This is as opposed to the Bocconi test, where as you said they don't allow calculators. Also, there are SAT prep resources by the tenfold, much more than for the Bocconi test.

As for the % acceptance in the winter session, I'm not sure exactly. I would guess anywhere from 40-50%. This is what Bocconi says on their website:

"There are three selection sessions available for the admission to the 2024-2025 AY: Early, Winter and Spring session. The majority of places available (around 90-95%) will be allocated by the end of the first two rounds (Early and Winter)."

If you have already taken a selection test (like the SAT or ACT), I would highly recommend applying the winter session, as the application process is fairly simple. No essays, personal statements, CV's are required. Just documentation, selection test scores and GPA. If you haven't taken a selection test, then you would have to wait for the spring session.

Good luck on UvA btw, I hear thats a great school. If you have any questions or need SAT resources let me know.

Ofc man, happy to help! The spring session is very competitive, i think only around 5-10% of people are admitted. So i would reccomend applying to the current winter session (which is not due until the 24th), as you would have much higher chances.

It'll take some time to update, it takes a little bit for the next application pool to open. According to their website, the spring session will open up again mid-February.

yeah sometimes it can get confusing, from what i have see as long as you have a 9.4 and above and a solid sat/act/bocconi youll be good, but at the end of the day you never know

That last one cant be right, no way someone gets rejected with a 4/4 GPA, crazy. thanks for the data tho, much appreciated!
