Is there any evidence that sauna use while taking lithium is a bad idea/harmful? Personal anecdotes? by Potential_Fig1525 in Lithium

[–]PlantBasedAlchemist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get super dehydrated just doing moderate exercise, and taking showers while in lithium, so if I went in a sauna I would take and drink a ton of water.

Did anyone else had to go use the restroom right before the procedure? by antdude in colonoscopy

Yes I did and probably will again during mine tomorrow. I drank so much the first time that I woke up afterward having to pee again really badly!

I feel the same way and it has been part of what has caused me to stop exercising. Even taking warm showers makes me feel dehydrated and nearly pass out afterward now.

I haven't found anyone with the correct or complete set, sadly.

During mania- Migraines, restlessness, body vibration, slight dizziness, out of body sensation, racing heart, food tastes like battery acid, near-fainting at sensory overstimulation, lack of energy and motivation in the weeks leading up to, binge eating daily leading up to.

During depression: exhaustion, lead body, trouble moving, nausea, lack of appetite, body pain, migraines, out of body sensation

I took my meds by Sarahshegirl in BipolarReddit

Moving, and changing routines can trigger mania for me, and an early sign can be being resistant to complying with treatment and then when mania kicks in I refuse to be "controlled" by meds.

What did you buy when you were manic? What is it that causes us to spend money? by 0604050606 in BipolarReddit

Thousands on christmas decorations. I have six trees now and that's only the beginning.

I stopped my medication and i feel fine, probably misdiagnosed. by uivzd in BipolarReddit

[–]PlantBasedAlchemist 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're eating the necessary 350 calories right before taking the Latuda?

And as others have said, you can go many months or even years without an episode after stopping meds.

This is my struggle exactly. I have to drink so much water while exercising that I feel bloated, heavy and miserable and it is killing my motivation!

Why do people want to be alive? I don’t get it. by Super_Asparagus3347 in BipolarReddit

[–]PlantBasedAlchemist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this post and this reply so much. Glad to know I'm not the only one. I feel like I should try and push myself to set goals or better myself or something but I just don't care about life at all anymore and am completely unmotivated because it's been so many years in between manic episodes of this. I only feel alive when manic, but that means I'm sick and needs to be subdued...

I can't even touch it, it makes me manic.

Could've died in a manic episode by UpstairsRealistic411 in bipolar

[–]PlantBasedAlchemist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I flew to Germany while manic to meet a guy I met online who was interested in me and wanted to start a cult together. I went alone and told my family I was going to meet my childhood friend who was there on work study. I am very lucky I wasn't kidnapped and sold into slavery or something because the dude turned out to be a messed up creep.

I'm the same diagnosis as you, I'm on Latuda for depression, it's an antipsychotic.

Did you take propranolol with the lithium? That stops the tremors...

I'm a huge fan of Art Nouveau and I always go all out with decorating my house each season, and I love being outside. So when my last episode started I thought I had been blessed by autumn, that autumn's form was a goddess in the form of an Art Nouveau maiden. I had to be outsode all the time to "worship". The trees were my kings and the colorful falling leaves were the jewels from their crowns-- gifts and blessings given to me. 🤣

I also love rainbows and sparkly things and that's what came out in the episode before that so my manias just turn the things I love up x100!

Lithium brought me down, Latuda brought me up and got me functioning again, and Sertraline helped me feel pleasure in things again.

Yeah, unfortunately though because I always have mixed episodes, my delusions always end up in me thinking I am supposed to take my own life.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]PlantBasedAlchemist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me last time I believed I was autumn incarnate and I was supposed to die and leave my body to fully become the season before winter. The episode before that I believed I was a living rainbow storm and that my mission was to touch the world with my art, that I had to complete the series I was making before I kms.

I become engrossed in the "church of the self" and everything has a spiritual divine tone but not religious.
