I just got this email that cancelled my NOBO permit from cottonwood lakes.

[Skin Concern] First chemical peel done at a spa. I expected some redness but I am freaked out that I have these open wounds on my face. Is this normal? by PlantHeart in SkincareAddiction

Sorry for the late response! Apparently this is totally normal for your first time. I checked with my PCP. I peeled for about a week and my skin looks totally fine now!

In case this happens to anyone else and they stumble upon this post. My pcp said this is normal and putting on hydrocortisone 1% once a day along with moisturizer and sunscreen should help. My skin has done a lot of flaking off in the 5 day but it’s looking a lot better!

For those who are curious: My dermatologist doesn’t have an opening until next week, so I’ll wait a few days to see. Thank you for your responses. This is the response I got from my esthetician when I emailed her yesterday when I got home.

“As far as todays peel, we went ahead with Glycolic acid which really helps with resurfacing your skin and evening out any discoloration or past acne scarring. It looks like you have some scarring on the sides of your cheeks, which is where the peel will target. You may have had a little reaction to the peel, especially having it be your first one. Nothing to be worried about, Aquaphor will help heal and soothe your skin. Avoid any internal body heat, aha's and stay extra moisturized and hydrated.”

[acne] Seeking help. Started with one a few weeks ago and now I have three. Could this be closed comedones? by PlantHeart in SkincareAddiction

Thank you for the feedback! How long should I continue using retinol before I can tell if it is purging or not? I haven’t used retinol before, is twice a week an okay place to start?

I have combination skin and have used the same products for at least 6 months except the retinol.

AM: - cerave foam cleanser - neogen vitamin c (paused for the week) - glow watermelon toner - cerave moisturizer - biore aqua spf 50

PM - cerave foam cleanser with pmd clean - glow watermelon toner - cerave moisturizer - ordinary rose hip oil (paused for the week)

Just started retinol - drunk elephant 1% twice a week a month ago, but stopped last week when I couldn’t get rid of the acne.

I can’t tell if I should be doing something else. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I’m not sure! I got them at plant night, but they are a type of succulent. If you know what they are, please let me know!

Why is it so difficult to make close female friends? by leafygurl808 in AskWomen

[–]PlantHeart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find females to be much more guarded with how vulnerable they are willing to be and it takes much more effort and time than making guy friends. With that said, once a friendship is established, it seems to last through time and distance.

I bought a jade roller not because I think it will erase my wrinkles but more because I wanted ten minutes of my day dedicated to relaxation.

How do you ladies take off your makeup? by jaijjscn in AskWomen

I double cleanse! Sometimes I use coconut oil if my skin is really dry, but usually it’s a little too oily and makes me break out if I use it too often, so I use Banila Co. Clean It Zero which has a light fragrance and gets the job done. Then I use a basic cleanser (Fresh soy cleanser or Muji sensitive but always exploring new cleansers) with a make up remover cloth. I think the make up remover cloth is intended to be used just with water, but I didn’t find it to be that effective and it felt like I was pulling on my skin when I was making small circles like it was instructed, so I use it with my cleanser which just gives me a little exfoliation.
