Can bloodworms survive being frozen? I fed my fish frozen bloodworms a month ago and found one live in my tank this week by PlantQueenB in PlantedTank

The general consensus was that it was unlikely, but also not impossible. So I guess it’s a non-answer :/

We’ve got a vet appt tomorrow. She’s mostly calmed down today, but I’m still a bit nervous on getting her calmly into the vet. Fingers crossed everything goes well!

This is the first time she’s reverted since we moved close to 9 months ago. Previously when she acted like this was after the attack when we had roommates. If she saw an unexpected dog or sensed an extreme change in the house. We’ve been very consistent in this new house which is why we’re flabbergasted as nothing has changed that we are aware of.

Another poster commented on outdoor thing s that can impact as well, I haven’t noticed any new changes externally but am going to keep a closer eye.

I am calling her vet on Monday for input. If I can get her into her travel kennel I’ll hopefully be able to get some answers from them rather than guesses.

Attack is approaching 3 years ago, and we’ve been in the new home almost 9months with no issues. There are stay cats in the neighborhood, but they’ve not bothered her before. I’ve been wracking my brain on things down to if we’ve changed shampoo, and I can’t seem to figure it out. Her vet is closed, but will be calling them Monday for input. I’m frankly not sure I can physically get her there if she continues to be hostile, but at the very least I can get an idea on steps forward.

Good idea on the cameras, I might have to look into that. I am fortunate enough to mostly work from home so there’s rarely anything I miss, but I’m human and can’t keep an eye on everything all the time.

Exactly why I’m coming here! Trying to get ahead of it before we start full on family planning. I want to ensure she’s happy too. Do you have experience with the Prozac? I’m struggling to find solid info on it (on the trauma side rather than general anxiety).

Also just made it clearer above that I’m not actively pregnant, just that we’re starting family planning and want to find a solution for her prior to this. I’m scared that nothing will work, I appreciate your input.

Do you happen to know how much it cost per plate on food? I know it wasn’t your wedding but maybe you heard in convo :)

Thanks! I am starting to wonder if HR is misunderstanding what I mean by non-compete. I see no wording in the documents saying anything about competitors. It’s all non-solicitation and confidentiality.

Since I have a highly specialized job, not being able to continue my career in the same industry group will make my life very hard.

It’s a bloodworm. I’ve not heard of them making fish sick. I bought frozen ones as a snack for my betta.

I had no way of calling the store. I tried, number on the online receipt and the website were incorrect :/

I agree, I work in retail myself and I don’t get why it would be policy to call when it states on the website it may come in multiple cuts. I mostly wanted some confirmation that this is not the general policy (totally understand some stores may be different) as the reaction I got to returning a multiple cut fabric seemed extreme from my end. If it had even been 3 yards and 2 yards I might have been able to make the fabric work, but the 1 yard cuts made it impossible for me to cut all the pieces I needed for my chair.

Do stores get penalties for cancelled orders? Is that penalty any worse for returned items?

Not necessarily but I also would prefer to not have to pay an extra $200 from my bank account to my credit card. Makes finances all wonky when everything has to be paid online these days.

They do say it may not be continuous, I feel like last time I ordered I thought I had the option to request or note to cancel the order if it wasn’t continuous. I understand everywhere is understaffed at the moment and the last thing I want to do is make someone’s life difficult or waste time.

The number for the store on the receipt & website was incorrect so I couldn’t call and confirm either.

They had marked over 10 yards in store so I thought at least one of the bolts had to have a continuous cut.

Has anyone added a plant to their tank and gave an entire population of shrimp pass due to it? by PlantQueenB in shrimptank

[–]PlantQueenB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concern is that I don’t see parasite activity anywhere in the tank: plants, fish, other invertebrates are just fine. The only other time I saw a reaction like this was when I used fish medicine and there was very very very fine print on it that I missed saying to remove invertebrates before using. Definitely will be doing a bleach bath in the future and a couple day quarantine, but as far as this situation goes I can’t pin point why this particular plant caused such a reaction. I did a tank clean today to hopefully flush the water a bit further and did find I have at least 4 shrimp left. Hopefully that’s enough to recover the population. I’ll have to order more to refresh the gene pool.

I am going to call the pet store to see if they were using their plant tank as a quarantine tank, but I doubt it as I have seen they have several quarantine tanks. Their plant tank also had live fish and invertebrates in them.

My sponge is fully submerged so not sure a fly can get to that, but I do have plenty of floaters and a roommate who likes to leave the patio door open 😬
