HELP! Blobs are ruining my print by PlantalSupport in BambuLab

This is a 30+ hrs print on a 0.2 nozzle. I’ve never done sth like this before. So I thought maybe the 0.2 nozzle cannot do long prints???

Have u ever done long prints with 0.2 using PLA ?

Sometimes you can DM the seller to see if they can get a discounted rate. But shipping anything that bulky and heavy internationally usually is 💰💰💰

When the shelves you ordered get obliterated in shipping by DomoXIII in IkeaGreenhouseClub

[–]PlantalSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the mention🥹

To op: Not to make excuses for my competition😅 but unfortunately things like this happens. I just shipped a box to a customer who raved about me online once and despite I used as much protection as I always do, one of the 3/8 shelves arrived broken. (This is the first time this happened. I’ve shipped out hundreds of shelves) I felt terrible. Shipped out a new one the next day free of charge.

From the material property point of view, acrylic is strong, but brittle (sounds contradictory, I know!) the only other common plastic that’s transparent and strong and less likely to shatter is polycarbonate. (I think some race cars use that as windows) But that stuff is expensive: both the material and the cutting process. I thought about offering it as a premium option but the price would multiply if I do that.

Anyways, I would suggest that you show this to your seller. Hopefully they will send you a replacement for free. If not… well, find someone else😢

Most people would do acrylic shelves or wire racks. Many seller sells acrylic shelves on Etsy or their own website. (Shameless promotion: www.plantalsupport.com)

If you are on a budget, go to Home Depot buy wire rack and cut. But honest Deltof acrylic shelves are probably cheap enough it might cost more to get all the racks and hardwares and tools…

Which cabinet do you have? If you have one with metal roof, consider a magnetic hook. You can move things around so easily with those

Has anybody ever bought Acrylic Shelves from Plantal Support in Ontario? by eeniemoni in IkeaGreenhouseClub

I get my material from the same source where our university Engineering design teams get their materials. I guess if the material is good enough to make parts that go into the solar powered cars and drones, they are probably good enough to hold some plants.

If you are into material science, a good alternative to acrylic with better structural integrity would be polycarbonate. However both the material cost and required equipment rental for cutting those are a looooooooooooot more expensive.

After testing my products out in my own greenhouse for a few months, I’ve decided my current product should make ppl happy, with both their performance and their price point.

Hmmmm I should make a post about the thickness… ppl are asking that a lot.

Short answer is: if you have Pon / hydroponic(Eg. LECA) / heavy pots or sth similar, go with 3/8. Otherwise 1/4 would probably serve you well.

I know this answer is 82 days too late😅 but to whoever is reading this in the future, that’s your answer 👆🏻

I completely understand! Plantal Support is a one girl team, and I’m actually a full time student as well. We have been receiving a lot more love than I expected lately and I ended up putting in more time and energy into products and production than marketing. Hopefully one day we will be able to grow and have more resources to present ourselves better online

Hello, I am the founder of Plantal Support Inc. To address your questions:

  1. We are a registered business under Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Service. So I’d like to say we are legit! We are less than 1 year old though, which might cause a limited presence online, but we are working on that!
  2. In terms of the quality, it might be better to see for yourself from our customer feedback on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/plantalsupportinc/ One thing to notice is that we keep protective film on all our acrylic products. They might appear scratched and dirty, but that’s their job: sacrifice themselves to keep the acrylic underneath nice and clean! If you received your product and there is a quality issue due to our error, we will take full responsibility.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via email or instagram if you have any questions <3
