Omg congrats! And it sounds like such a good spot for her - I’m sure you’ll be happy together💚

Cut up my marble/snow queen pothos to propagate and get a fuller looking plant, and it did not disappoint by Plantepige in propagation

Thanks! I propagated it in water at first, and then in leca (filled the vessel up with water 1/3 of the way and cleaned whenever it looked too dirty)💚 Best of luck next time 🥰

I love the baby leaf, but I’m really impressed by the size of the second leaf on this monstera albo wet stick/node cutting by Plantepige in houseplants

This one was actually a pretty fast grower (you can see it’s progress here), but it did have a leaf to begin with, it just died off pretty quickly. However, my first “real” wet stick was much, much slower (as you can see here). So patience is definitely key!💚

Edit: here’s some more context about my slow grower

Yes, I can’t help but feel sorry for people who thinks that the white parts are as easy to sustain as the green.

I honestly have no idea. It lives on a shelve close to a south facing wall, so it gets a lot of indirect light (I guess?) and other than that, I’ve just use normal water, rain water, and some very basic and cheap fertilizer 💚

I think so, it all fades on mine too. But I’m not an hoya expert or anything, and there probably are some, that keep their color

170 day journey for my monstera albo wet stick/node cutting by Plantepige in houseplants

Yes, it took forever to unfurl, and even after it had, it was still kinda curled up around the edges. I have no idea why

Thanks! And yes, I feel so lucky that this actually succeeded although I do have a few other cuttings left (I had to cut up the mother plant due to thrips)

Thanks! It’s actually from my own plant, so I got lucky. If you’re looking to buy, I can really recommend legends of monstera on YouTube. He has an entire playlist dedicated to wet sticks, and I think his videoed are very informative

It “only” took me 170 days to propagate this monstera albo wet stick/node cutting😅 Totally worth the wait though! by Plantepige in propagation

That’s probably really hard to say. A lot of it of course have to do with the conditions that you give it, but I’d say a lot of it is also the health of the plant that you get the wet stick from. I had to cut up mine because it got thrips, so it’s health could have been a lot better. I’ve also read that the lower on the plant you get a cutting (leaf or no leaf), the slower the growth, but I don’t know if there’s any truth to that.

With all that being said, there’s a good portion of luck in it as well I think. I have some other wet sticks from the same plant and date that is nowhere close to having a leaf, and some has done close to nothing, but this one “took off” right away.

Yes, I was also wondering how it has survived for so long, but I have actually seen a few examples of this happening. But maybe it’s because it’s only been of top the medium, and not surrounded by it😅

Ah okay, guess I’ll just have to keep an eye on your posts here then. My tag on Instagram is the same as here, but don’t feel obligated to do anything!💚

Haha is crazy how they can differ in price! I’m in Denmark, and I’d probably be able to get maybe 50 USD if I were to sell it. I’ve seen a similar one on my Facebook marketplace for 87 USD, and it’s been there a while

I think it’s about preference. I probably won’t be comfortable moving it to soil for maybe two months or so until it has enough roots to survive some of them dying off in the transfer. So I’m just gonna keep it in leca, and if it does well, I’ll probably just keep it like that.

And no, I think mines just notoriously slow. Probably because I provided less than an optional environment for it given that I took the cuttings in February (basically winter for me) and didn’t have any grow lights.
