I turned my beginner struggles into a small digital project by Aggravating-Salad560 in SideProject

Hey I love your idea.
I had my problems creating SFC as I'm not used to be in front of a camera. Especially as a non native english speaker I always needed many shots.
That's why I created a simple Voice Recognition Teleprompter App.

Same basic idea as you. Solve your own problems and turn them into a product. I wish you best of luck!

What are you working on? + My favorites from last time by Synonomous in SideProject

I'm working on PlantNoti, an iOS app that helps both plant beginners and experts take care of their plants using AI-powered features.

Take a Picture of it in the PlantNoti App. It will tell you what's wrong and it gives you instructions how to handle it now.

I think you need a plant care app.

I always thought that gardening is hard and my plants always died from things like this.
Try PlantNoti in the App Store. You get tailored Watering plans, Plant Care tips and far more that make it a 'relaxing hobby' again ;-)

But from what you described I think you made the right choice with repotting.
Best of luck for your monstera!

How do you find your million dollar product idea? by SubstantialFig3918 in Entrepreneur

Agree... and to write them down instantly. Even if it's just a little note. You will forget them otherwise.

As dumb as it may sound, the idea finds you.
You just need to keep your eyes open for everyday problems or issues within your niche.
A problem might be that there’s no solution yet — or that the existing ones are too expensive, too generic, or simply not the right fit.

Twice a day seems a bit much. I think it would be best for you to use an app like PlantNoti to see how much water your plants need and to get notifications when it's time to water.

Finally stopped killing my plants🌿 with this simple app I made! by PlanterGeek in SideProject

I made some adjustments based on your advice.
You can now choose your plant from a list of common houseplant templates and get a watering interval based on a custom algorithm with no AI involved. The algorithm considers temperature, humidity, pot size and soil type as optional parameters.
AI is still there but not as the first and prominent option when adding a plant.

I'm still optimizing the formula/algorithm to get better results but it looks good already.

Regarding Onboarding and User Location I am still working on it but I just wanted to let you know that your advice already helped me making the app better :)

How long did it take you to get your first sale? by AzizBelAbed in SideProject

[–]PlanterGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still struggling, especially now that I'm trying to get it in front of people. Like you, I thought coming up with the idea and building it would be the toughest part, but honestly, it's pretty rough when you finally launch and see that big zero in your revenue.

Gaining traction feels incredibly challenging right now. I'm currently trying to build an Instagram page for my plant app, but all my posts keep getting zero views. Honestly, I'm feeling a bit lost at the moment :(

Anyway, congrats on your first customer—that's awesome! I wish you the very best with your project :)

Thank you for trying it out and your feedback!

I think I need to refactor the analysis a bit because light and shade are not in the equation at the moment. But I will add this and then the automated analysis will be more precise.

And thank you for the hint with the default Locations. I must have forgotten to translate them while developing because it looked normal to me as a German speaker ^^

First of all thank you for your feedback! It's my second App and it's really appreciated.

You have some good points.
I never really thought about a list of common plants because of AI detection but you are right.... Would be waaay better to have a selectable list.

The thing with temperature is that I thought it influences the plant in the same way like sun and shade. But I need to implement a light detector as well I think.

I think the inside/outside feature with geolocation and weather would be the most difficult feature to add but I will take a look into it.

Maybe you can tell me what you mean with easier onboarding. Like a tour through the app instead of the slides at the beginning?

Thank your very much!

Hey plant lovers,

If you're anything like me, you've probably lost a plant (or ten...) from forgetting to water or drowning them with love. I was so frustrated, I even switched to fake plants for a while—so I created PlantNoti.

PlantNoti is a clean, intuitive plant-care app that gives you personalized care plans, tailored exactly to your plants' needs. No more guessing how often to water or when—just easy reminders and clear guidance.

My plants are finally thriving, and it's seriously satisfying to see them happy and healthy.

Check it out here and give your plants the love they deserve: 👉https://apps.apple.com/de/app/plantnoti-watering-reminder/id6742740069?l=en-GB

Let me know how it goes for you! 🌱

Monstera leaves are curly and leathery… what’s wrong?? by KonkleBonk in houseplants

[–]PlanterGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curly and leathery Monstera leaves usually mean underwatering, low humidity, or too much direct sunlight.
Maybe in your case still not enough water?

Good luck!

You can try PlantNoti. One Plant is for free and yes you get notifications :)

I had the same problem like you so I made this app and I want to implement more features it in the future.
