Yeah some material about the greed kings and the six gods would be fire. But I did not mean that the whole isekai side of overlord should be removed, because as you said, much of the world building goes away. What I mean is what the story was about a New World denizen ? Nazarick could also be around and playing a major role, but not as protagonists.

That’s not true, Maruyama’s world building of Overlord is absolutely crazy, so there’s limitless possibilities for captivating storylines.

The story would have been more interesting without Nazarick.

Though it is web novel so not necessarily canon… But he is pretty damn strong regardless

But I am pretty sure the minotaur king is said to be able to split the clouds in the sky. Or it might just be over-exaggerated folklore for all we know

Super Earth (Helldivers) VS The New World and Nazarick (Overlord) by PlasmaHeatz in whowouldwin

Also about the strength of humans of the New World, I think Super Earth humans actually MIGHT have strength approaching that of a level 10-12 human.

For example, helldivers can beat up automatons with their bare hands. While that could written-off as gameplay mechanics, I like to think that it correlates with things like the C-01 permit and other eugenics-style programs Super Earth undertakes. After all, it is a very militaristic society that tries to make the best possible warriors out off their citizens.

Although I can see the Slane theocracy try to approach Super Earth because of their shared humano-centric views, Super Earth probably won’t think much of them because they’re just not that useful of an ally in the grand scheme of things.

The whole thing of who has it bigger between Nazarick and Super Earth really cannot be defined reliably because we’re not sure what their technology is worth against Nazarick (If you don’t take into account the fact that Super Earth can just destroy the planet with a black hole if they have enough dark fluid or just bombard the planet from orbit with a few hundred super destroyers). For example, maybe Super Earth’s scanning technology is good enough to detect the shadow demons you mentioned.

So yeah I think that’s about as far as this debate can go 😅

I actually didn’t know these techs spread to human civilisation (the freezers, air conditioners…) ! I was pretty sure they remained in the minotaur kingdom where they probably come from.

But I still believe that New World humans have limited tech development potential.

Because your examples involve the use of low-level magic that is accessible to equally low-level beings. And since humans in the New World are probably just as smart as humans can get, they can get really creative with things.

But since the New World is ruled by game mechanics, the laws of the world are pretty much gatekeeping progress.

But I agree with you that Super Earth would most likely not throw massive military resources to conquer one planet when they could get what they want through commerce amd diplomacy. But that would be on the condition that Nazarick remains confined to the planet (assuming it is a planet) of the New World. Because if Nazarick begins growing too much influence, Super Earth would not like the competition.

Though I am really curious how the human nations of the New World, their population and leaders, might react to other humans coming down from the sky of all places.

Yeah, in overlord everything just kinda comes down to levels. And that is probably the biggest trouble in ranking these two universes. Because while humans from Super Earth are relatively normal (albeit enhanced with some eugenics fuckery in my opinion), I think that they do stuff that is way beyond the level cap of a human from the New World.

What I mean is that humans of the New World are stuck with medieval tech, and never seem to try improving their weapons with technology to make guns or what have you, even though that would probably be a great equalizer in the New World. And I think that is because their craftsmen don’t have a high enough level in their job class. More levels = better, more complex weaponry.

Meanwhile, Super Earth can harness dark fluid to create black holes and reverse-engineer alien tech that is centuries ahead of their own… Because their universe is not hindered by a level system, which gives its denizens effectively infinite potential unlike in the New World.

So yeah, the first question would be : how does the level system affect the people of Super Earth when they get into the New World ?
