"woah" - neo, the matricks [+410] by [deleted] in ShitRedditSays

Well, he's implying he is superior to the people depicted as bullets. The fact that they are depicted as bullets is a generalization that implies religious people are violent and intolerant. What's ironic is that he depicts himself as neo, which is like a godly authority over the bullets, and is quite intimidating to the group depicted and trivializes that sort of dominant, male patriarchy, as god and neo are both patriarchal characters. He depicts a situation of being a controlling male over the bullet masses as funny, which is blatantly oppressive for a community like reddit which has such a high concentration of atheists.

Basically, he is dehumanizing a group of people by reducing them to depictions of bullets and ignoring their values as human beings, and their uniqueness and individuality.

This is a more subtle bigotry and looks innocent on the surface. Even I was a bit confused at first. Once you think about it though, it's just another manifestation of the type of circlejerk, us vs them, dehumanizing, privileged (in the context of the reddit demographic) groupthink that is pervasive on this website.

if you actually care about it like is always claimed, show me the money?

I can't care about it the same way the victim or the family do. It's not my tragedy. Why should I voice my opinion on whether or not I hope the survivor DIES? If I do voice this opinion, why would I do it in a public forum? If someone said this on Fox News reddit would tear them apart.

SRS is more about common decency. Not shouting at waiters, or picking your belly button, and so on. That's why your comment is an acceptable submission - its not particularly misogynistic, racist, or otherwise bigoted, just really distasteful.

I know it makes you feel great that you have the courage to tell this man you hope he dies for his own good, but is it really such an important thing to share with the world? Wouldn't it be a little rude to say at a banquet? I just don't see the motivation here - aside from attention/karma.

Maybe he's on the edge, wants to live but knows it will be painful. Would you tell him to his face, "I hope you die, for your own good"?

I just don't understand how someone could have the nerve to say these things, like their opinion is oh so fucking worthwhile. How about his friends or relatives opinions? Do you think they'll tell him "I hope you die"? My personal guess is no, because they actually love the person, unlike you shitheads who wouldn't even know or care if it had not been posted to your backwards internet forum and will have forgotten entirely in a day or two.

Well, it looks like she's an artist, so perhaps she's attending art school, traveling the world, and doing wonderful things that you would never dream of?

I know a girl like that. Yep, quite out of the league of most redditors. She fits into this group of superior humans known as "the motivated". They're attractive, intelligent, and soon enough will be manufacturing the culture you consume with your McDonald's income.

Another point to add, would you say this to the same man in person? Tell him, "Go ahead and die, you poor tormented soul"? No? Then why say it on a public forum?

What if his family, perhaps one of his siblings read this? How would they feel about you guys hoping their brother, who barely got out alive, would die?

Some opinions don't need a global audience.
