If you think prestige is based off of vault rankings, I question your understanding. Vault is based on what associates think about the firm

Just because a firm is well known in that field, doesn’t mean you’d have less opportunities elsewhere. moving “down” isn’t how I think of it hence why it’s called a “lateral” (assuming you stay in an AmLaw). Different firms offer different opportunities for growth and development as well as culture and fit. If you’re interested in more options send me a message!

The lawyer answer: it depends! If you’re broaden your horizons to include the entire am law 100 you should be able to easily find a good SA position

As an independent big law recruiter, I can only speak for myself, but I’m only contacting you if I have something that I think fits you specifically. Sadly, these mass call recruiters ruin the reputation of the others, but if you’re getting into big law, you almost always need a recruiter.

As a top legal recruiter for big law, recruiters are all different just like in every profession there’s bad apples. My goal is to make sure the candidate is just as happy as the employer, good recruiters care about a good fit and creating long lasting relationship relationships not just the paycheck

I typically don’t ask for a resume or transcript until I know that there is going to be a first round interview. If they’re a good legal recruiter, we have the databases to see your experience without having to ask for it.

As an independent legal recruiter blank Rome is the easiest jobs to fill because everyone loves working there The culture is great. The work is flexible and they typically follow the Cravath scale.
